I love the immunizes it makes the game more fun. You cant just plow through everything. Use ur merc and also use a different skill.
We all played without immunities in 1.09. Trust us, the game wasn’t better. Immunities made the game better. Make the best fire / cold sorc you can and stop hyper focusing on cold. You’ll be fine.
Hammer can still clear almost anything. Usually magic immunes are undead and holy bolt, direct synergy to blessed hammer, ignores magic immunity vs undead.
It’s like synergies don’t even exist.
You don’t need them with frozen orb. You can dump the rest of your points in either meteor or Hydra and still be fine.
When you are farmed out in gear you can grab an infinity and some -resistant facets and use cold mastery to go full Blizzard if you want. You have options either way. Dumb argument.
My Fury Druid was the same way vs IM.
To the OP:
-
Worst case you can usually leave the game and create another and in most cases the immunity type will change (some Bosses etc will have the same base immunity all the time).
-
You could join a PuG in those cases and someone will likely be able to have a damage type to take them down.
-
You can usually gear merc’s for a 2nd damage type (ie, something other than your main).
-
Have a backup of your own which you swap gear out to do another damage type effectively enough.
Honestly, you’ll hit bad immune combos and may need to use option 1 or 2 if options 3 and 4 not enough.
It is definitely more difficult than your average video game.
Your average player never visits the forum of the game and never reads D2 manuals/guides so probably doesn’t even know what “ber rune” and “Chains of Honor” are. Still, the same player with the same attitude completes most other video games quickly without issues.
Those builds aren’t “weaker”. They can beat hell while some “stronger” builds can not.
There is no challenge in a game in which you can reach perfection by having everything. Sadly, most of today’s games are like that: linear easy ride. I see no point in turning every game into something like that.
The current game has lower difficulty levels for those who want an easy ride and has higher difficulty levels for the rest. Why do you want to remove the challenges when you can avoid them in the current game by playing on a lower difficulty level? The “content” is basically the same as on hell.
Hey, hey! Why should I have to think to play a video game? Just let me mindlessly spam the same two skills while I drool on my keyboard.
All these changes to immunities took place after Rust Storm.
its almost as if fan boys dont get the issue at hand and that your differnt type of damage is going to be ignroed and immune to …
hey barbian you didnt go berserk? enjoy the physicol immune mobs
like WoW I bet some fan boy like you is going to make an excuise for that.
The immunity think in Hell is just something people have to deal with.
There are things to counter it, it’s just a matter of getting the majority of this new community caught up with the veteran players knowledge-wise.
Mercenaries exist for a reason, kill all non immune monsters and let your act 3 mercenary finish the immunes (when playing barb) ones or just have a second weapon that does elemental damage.
Immunities are what gives this game flavor, you need different characters to do different things and that’s totally fine.
yes coz You know the Mercs are super good and dont require runewords or other stuff to make them good at all and are like amazing in every single way man my fav merc is the Act 3 Merc clearly the best merc ever with that super Sword I Gave him Breath of the Undying i mean its so super easy! and so complex and complete so much fun so much customization oh me gee!
oh wait Did you legit think your statement is legit? did you think this responce was legit? In that case I got some land to sell you …
1 point in Berzerk is all u need to deal with Physical Immunes. Seriously 1 point in warcry to stun everyone and 1 point in Berzerk to bopp’em dead. That’s it. That’s all. No immunities for the barb to worry about. Still has to alter gameplay to deal with them but that’s called not being a lazy boy.
Next people are going to cry about items they want but dont have
YOu expected everything to be given to you on a silver platter? Hell is made for people that invested time and effort into making those runewords and items, I just hit hell and already made insight and a Smoke armor, these are very easy runes to get.
Now just need to find a life leech helm and it is GG.
Problems is people want to play the hardestr content with 0 effort, play offline and use editors, problem fixed.
Classic was more difficult to get good items (esp when classes were more rare item dependent for builds). Although hellmode was much more of a faceroll/easy mode back then.
Runewords killed a lot of items in this game, especially the ladder ones (EG spirit, etc). That said, I still think I prefer the game as it is now with runewords than without. There’s a lot more variance in builds and possibilities with them than without.
The only immunity i have a problem with is servers immunity to players.
The whole “I want to make the strongest build” part was a hilarious read. It’s more like “I just want bigger numbers”, something fostered by the stupid power level design in D3. It’s actually a pretty damn important life lesson that putting all your eggs in one basket is asking for trouble. So “strong”, but cannot even kill Corpsefire. I guess… not so strong after all.
