Meph has same stats like in og d2. The fact that you hadno issies in old d2 means nothing as he simply didnt have crit for example and in d2r he had crit with double damage to you one shoting you.
If you’re stuck ask people for help. People in D2 argue a lot but ultimately most people will jump at the chance to help someone. I will. I’ll kill em for you for free
I did. I posted here, and in 2 different D2 Discords. After 30 mins of nothing I said screw it…left the game hoping I didn’t lose anything. Got my main gear back, but have zero motivation to farm keys again.
Huh you’re done over failing at uber trist? I have like literally the cheapest possible gear on my uber/dclone killer, zero issues with farming organs and torches… if you really want actual challenges in d2r then you’re doing it wrong
Define cheapest gear? And it’s not just failing Uber Tristram per se…it’s the insane amount of effort/grind it takes to get all the keys to run it. I had mostly no issues (aside from Andarial) getting the organs…only to get 1-shotted by Mephisto.
I ran my exact build in the OG and had no issues, as I mentioned. So I kinda expected a fairly smooth sail in D2R, which I did not get.
For reference, this is what I was using (and I was following this https_//maxroll.gg/d2/guides/smite-paladin):
Guillaume’s Face
Grief Phaseblade
Herald of Zakarum
Metalgrid
Smoke Body Armor
Dracul’s Grasp
Thundergod’s Vigor
Raven Frost
Nagelring
Goblin Toe
Out of curiosity, did you switch to Salvation Aura when facing Mephisto? It’s a lifesaver. Fana for the rest, Salvation to counteract the Conviction Aura Meph places.
You could also run String of Ears or Verdungo for the belt to provide some physical damage resistance. Get rid of Nagelring, and use Dwarf Star. You won’t need either MF or AR for Smiting Ubers. I generally will throw any life charms into my inventory I have as well that are stashed away. I never use CTA, and generally run ubers on 1200-1400 life. Might die a time or two if I don’t pot fast enough if Life Tap isn’t up, but usually not too hard.
I personally like Treachery, fade gives damage reduction, lower curse duration and bunch of resists which helps a ton against meph… the rest is pretty standard, you shouldn’t really have much problem especially if you are dragging each uber boss one at a time…
Yes farming for keys and organs is time consuming, nothing new. All items in this game take a while to farm, not everyone’s cup of tea which is fine players just need to be honest with themselves with how much effort and dedication they want to put into a game… but you still have options. I run 2 accounts, my second account just uses sorcs so I can have them farm for items and areas that require teleport and then I use my main account to beat ubers/bosses/etc…
Also is there a point to you farming these things? Unless you love ubers and/or got a really efficient method to farming everything, I personally think it is a waste of time. So much more beneficial for your sanity and time to gear up a horker and find all the HRs you need to trade for all the gear you want.
Meh, Ive farmed many many torches in my lifetime if you want a pally torch, it is so much quicker to use a cheap sorc or horker to mf something decent to trade for the torch you want instead of going through the trouble of leveling and gearing one and going through all the trouble with the keys and organs. I found a nice griffs in the first week of playing the first ladder season, sold that for over 1000 FG and I was able to get all the torches and annis i wanted. Now if you are a SSF type of minded player then just gotta bite the bullet…
I have a MF Sorc…and I just have not found anything that is worth a PTorch…at least outside what I’d be willing to trade. I’ve found a BER and a ZOD, and a Vipermagi and Andy’s Helm…but I need those, and have nothing else left to trade to my knowledge.
If you found ber and zod gotta keep doing that then, you’re making way more bank with your sorc… as reference with SC L prices right now, cheap ptorch is 200-300 FG and Ber easily over 1100 FG…
