Ill Explain why Obsession is better then hoto/spirit

This is a fact. hidden knowledge actually that when you find a staff already sockets in. it sometimes can have + skills already attached to i. so lets say you find socket staff with already + 2 All Sorc Skills + fireball or whatever already on the staff along with other long list of stuff like faster hit recovery things normally find on staff

you can easily turn obsession into 11+ skill up staff

+4 obsession
+2-3 already on staff already make runeword. or 3 really good soso skills like 3-4 Blizzard Chain lightening or fireball 2 other skills it increases

then obsession actually does out do a hoto

now keep in mind you really need find one hell of amazing staff for that to work.

It is not lol. Another reason this is useless is you need to find the base and a zod rune, when honestly you can buy a occlusion for a pul rune and make a spirit for next to nothing and have similar results.

Also nova sorc need block so this thing is really useless, they could have at least gave it some enhanced damage for giggles.

It may work nice on some elite builds with the right base but overall very stupid. Most of the new runewords were very underwhelming honestly.

To be honest the whole 2.4 is underwhelming, but people are excited for new content so it is being overhyped.

Spirit is easy to make your make you forget one thing. about spirit most ppl leave out. there only 3 shields in the game can make spirit watch extremely strenght heavy and having indestructible staff isnt bad if find really good 4 socket monarches they also are very experence

as a soso what da hell are you gonna use a zod rune like for real? breathe of undying or whatever your not even melee. at least you have something you can use zod on that isn’t melee weapon meant for your merc zod doesnt even have same value as ber and jah. you can trade for it ease

Its a very expensive staff when you can make cheaper options.

Also rhyme is a good shield as well as an upped viscurant defender. Lidless will also do. Overall a very stupid runeword , as I said it makes sense for a few elite builds maybe… that is it overall pretty crappy runeword for what it cost. Trade the zod for a cpl vex , make hoto and pair with a decent shield does not need to be spirit. This will do people just fine.

I will agree that in some circumstances this staff may be better then hoto+spirit perhaps certain elite pvp builds or high damage pvm , however much harder to get and find the correct matching base. It is absolutely useless in HC as you need block if you want to run every area in the game and teleport with ease

Hey man I get it you are excited, if you like it use it dude don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Im more worried about finding right base then a zod be honest

same thing as last wish. last wish is amazing bloody expensive but it does what it does

Yeah if you play a lot zod not too bad for average Joe they will be using spirit.

Like I said I agree that in some instances for the right build and someone who can afford zod it may perform better.

As you said though that base is gonna be tough to get. Its definitely going to be worth it for those who put the time and investment in i hear ya. Overall though I think something more useful to the community abroad would have been better. This is a experienced players weapon for sure.

non-magical staves needed to make runewords don’t roll +all sorc skills or stuff like faster hit recovery. They only get up to 3 staff mods of +1-3 to certain sorc skills such as fireball, fire mastery, blizzard, etc.

This is correct! You could only get 3 blizzard +4 sorc skill. So overall hoto+spirit is better

20 characters.

You gonna have to make some really cool build that utilize a certain skill but yoy would be sacrificing other things for damage output that would make very little difference. Rather have +5 hard skills

No you can’t. The most you’d be able to get is +4 from Obsession and +1 to +3 for up to three different skills.

http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/elite/staves.shtml

“Staves can have up to 3 staffmods (bonuses to specific Sorceress spells), each ranging from +1 to +3 to skill level.”

+1 to +2 to all sorceress skills and +1 to +3 to a sorceress skill tree can only roll on magic and rare staves, which of course can not be used to create rune words.

no thx for thrash

+1 skill in exchange of loosing 50-75% bock rate is not worth it

staff cant spawn with +2 sorc skill as white(unusable for runeword)
while +3 to specific skills is possible…if staff give +3-4 to all skill its still not worth at the lost of block
