If you keep Terror Zones, please rework the randomizer

It is ridiculous when the same terror zones spawns twice with only 1 other terror zone in-between. Just now it was Crystalline Passage - Cow Level - Crystalline Passage. Surely there has to be a way to code the randomness to spawn different zones. I usually play while I work because I work from home, during an average 8 hour work day I get nearly the exact same TZ’s every day. I can’t tell you the last time I saw Chaos Sanc, or Tals Rasha’s Tombs. The normal for me is Lut Gholein Sewers, Kurast Sewers, Dark Wood, Arreat Plateau and Crystalline Passage. I would love to see some variety during the day time.

One time it hit back to back? Would rather have them remove the trash areas, don’t care if the same decent area pops 3 times in a row.

You could always randomize the times you play…

But why are the best TZ’s always between 12am-6am EST or do they ever even roll?

Also, hard to randomize the times I play when my work schedule is the same Monday-Friday. Would just be nice to get some variety.

I would prefer a posted schedule so I know when to plan some playing time around a zone.

why don’t they just switch in game as they get cleared… why are we forced to play one area for an hour and just switch to another, to the point where people just log off and wait to see if the next one is better…

the entire implementation is wrong and BORING. we need to keep complaining so something changes.

There are a lot of bad zones for farming that need to be removed from the TZ list. Arcane Sanctuary is a nightmare with ghosts that try to die in the void. Anything in the Act3 jungle is unpleasant. Virtually all Act1 zones before cathedral because of poor mob density. I’m sure others can think of more.

Another odd detail about TZ is that associated areas aren’t always affected by the TZ. For example, Tamoe Highlands TZ affects The Pit, but the portals in Frigid Highlands are not. It’s inconsistent and for no discernible reason. For the most part, there are maybe 5 TZs that I’ll do instead of my normal farming, and it’s all based on monster density in those zones.

Random is random. Whatever you choose. It all depends on when you play, how often per week, when you usually get online… Or if you are just playing indefinitely for like 190 hours… Hehheh  The “AI” is adapting, it will get better.

A scoop of Rocky Road anyone? :icecream:

A1-A5 and terrorise all zones in that act.

I think that’s a bit overkill don’t you? I mean why not go with a current and then a “next” with a 90% clear rate? Think about it, starting out with “Tristram” for the hourly would get more popular, after that just keep the chain a’rolling.

 Then it becomes one with Stony Field… Hahahah

Edit: I still want that ~12.5% chance to spawn a mini uber after an 80% clear. The “prize” is a big XP boost.

  • I think it would allow people to split up farming zones if they are grouped.
  • I think it would allow solo players to stay longer in games.
  • I think it would keep players online instead of logging off when a bad zone hits.

Nope. It would just annoy the heck out of people. Like bad zones for an hour do. They would first need to rework terror zones to be equally rewarding in terms of density/xp, including the time to find the entrance to the zone.

Meet you in the middle.

:beers:

Yeah im with Odin, if I want to farm Tower or Andy for an hour and I have to to Trist, the Field, Dark wood, ect before I can get to those, every single time. Thats gonna get very old, very fast IMO.

I think Im on board now after some thought. Hell even break it down into halves, “first half of A1 is Terrorized” Blood Moor-Tower, or “Second half” Tamoe-Catacombs.

Bumping this thread —

The Terror Zones really don’t feel random anymore. It seems like Blizzard consistently schedules all the bottom-tier TZs between 10 PM and 1 AM PST — which just so happens to be when I play.

As a late-night West Coast player, it’s frustrating. I often end up not playing at all because the zones during that time are so underwhelming.

Come on, Blizzard — throw us some decent TZs too!
