If you do not want a broken GPU better do this

cool. give them the money for this overpriced crap then. picking on people with less money than you. how wonderful.

I’ve found that when my fans start buzzing that the game often crashes when trying to exit. When they do this I’ve been exiting immediately. Every time, I have to do a force quit. I do a force quit and relaunch. This fixes it for me.

Sometimes GPUs simply fail. Could be a bad batch, bad ram or anything really as they are made of several parts which must work in tandem or it breaks functionality. I have seen vcards randomly fail, the most common is a blown capacitor so you are not wrong because heat kills caps but also voltage spikes from a poor psu or fluctuation in voltage going into your house can cause problems if not properly grounded.

You’re better off using MSI Afterburner or whatever software your GPU manufacturer has to create a more aggressive fan curve to prevent the GPU from overheating. That and vsync. No reason to process more frames than your display can even show.
