If Unique War Trav Have 50MF Shouldnt Blue have 75?

Why arent blue higher stat than unique?

Unique can have high stat, but also other stats

Blue can only have one stat, or two

If War Trav can have 50% MF

Then Blue Boots should reach 75 MF with no other stats

because the game doesnt work that way… >.>

boots can only get MF suffix

and that goes up to 35% on magic

But it would be more logical to have a higher value on blue, such as 75%

It would not be more logical that a blue basic magic item would have best in slot MF over a sought after MF boot, War Travelers.

that is the case for some magic prefixes and affixs, but not all, not even all affixes have the highest value restricted to blue, some items allow rares can get the max affix/prefix as well

i mean that’s true, but that’s also the reason why its the most sought after.

on other topic… this isn’t the cause with all uniques.
on things they can roll a prefix and a suffix with the same effect.
we can use MF again we can look at rings
most people assume nagelring is the best MF ring
but you can actually get up to 40 with a Fortuitous Rings of Fortune

which can get up to 15 on the prefix and up to 25 on the affix, for a total of 40

in reality though no one really uses these… because past past 400 mf is stupid unless your playing classic… because white items have a ton of value as bases, and the more mf u have the less likely a white will drop. And mf wont even affect runes.

This is actually a buff that largely wouldn’t matter because of its punishingly weak effectiveness the higher the number is. It wouldn’t do much except maybe make base item hunters mad?

Magicfind is the stat in the game that has hindered so many players around the world by stacking it just for hopes and dreams of finding GG items.

Its general this principal should apply to all though,

For example,

Weapons
Runeword ( most / special stats ) (does) = 400ed
Rare (good stats) (does) = 450 +(2os Ohm+Ohm) = 550ed w/ self repair
Magic (only 1-2 stats) (should) = 600ed + (2os Ohm Zod) = 650ed w/ Zod

I agree with that. In Diablo 1, seeing Godly Plate Of The Whale as a blue item made the item more epic than if it had been a unique.

Those Colossus blades of swiftness deserve to be god tier items just like Godly Plate Of The Whale was.

Compare it with D4 which doesn’t take any of this stuff into consideration and you end up with a pile of dog s***.

Don’t think it works that way. That’s like saying since Grief only costs a Lo+Mal rune it should be 5x worse than Last Wish which takes…5 HR? But wait, Grief in 95%+ of circumstances, IS better than Last Wish. Wait, what the heck? Oh, that’s right. Some items are different. Some are better. Some are worse. Some have different effects. Some have different goals. Etc etc. I’ll take a 30+FRW 10FHR +Stat w/ 3x30+ Resists and 25+ MF on a rare pair of boots instead of War Travelers.

All this to say…just how it is

I agree with op, maguc and rares should drop with some higher stats or new stats to make them viable option for gear.

But it depends on magic property. 75 MF would be just too much i think on boots.

I think there should be a balance between good blue items and uniques. Right now blues can compete with uniques and rares in certain slots.

Probably not the best idea to mess with the game’s itemization though. Just my two cents.

Considering DR and no ms (for moving between waypoints or if used on melee)on those boots since prefix+suffix it wouldn’t be too op.

I guess the reason for that is because rare/crafted boots can have both mf and gf on them at the same time. 80% gf is the highest possible gf on boots. That makes it fair enough for boots to not reach 50% mf. Even on magic quality boots.

The last thing this game needs is modern blizz screwing with itemization, one of the best things about this game, and the one thing they can’t seem to recreate in any of their newer titles.
