I would play both. Mods are something i play occasionaly offline.
i would play a modded version that is 1.14 LOD with updated graphics and QoL features. Basically same as D2R but without all those little “glitch” fixes they did since that all just made the game worse.
No, I play D2/d2r for what it is, not what is being modded
Agreed. There is no need for mods. There is already way too much of this paying for items and crap.
Pretty much this. Though, I’m starting to lean towards mods as my primary.
Depends. If its like open bnet then probably not but if was like playing mods on kali dot net where you actually had a file version authenticator where it wasn’t just open to god mode or maybe an official mod support from blizz then sure bring them on. But I would much rather have tcp/ip and I can do the rest.
I’d mod my own version and all you noobs would love it
PD2 is amazing. Balance is way different but yet there is still PVP. The item hunt is actually fun throughout an entire season and not for the first two weeks. Maps are enjoyable and still offer NPCs with immunities and challenging content. More level 85 areas exist, like tal rashas tombs. Botting is next to none. There is little to no JSP and the trading website is stellar and not a big time sink. There is a cow level that doesn’t suck in terms of loot if you want to farm cows and not feel hindered by it. It’s just better in so many ways.
I wish everyone would at least give it a shot (actually play it, not just look at it or patch notes) to see what aspects of this game could be. Now I can’t look at the graphics anymore though
Uhhh what? What do mods have to do with pay2win? lol
Educate yourself
I would do the same as in legacy. 99% d2r and 1% mods
atm i see 75% will play the mods instead of the retail.
Blizz wont allow modding at least at the near feature, because as the currect results indicate, very few will remain to the retail.
Why? Take PD2 for example, SenpaiSomething (the owner) and his team did a great job, New skills, balance, end game content, reworked uniques etc, and on the other hand we have Blizz which fears to do changes, they sold the 2.4 patch and Major Patch and it will be just crap, wont change the meta or wont bring anything new to the game on which players are exited for.
After months of waiting we get a minor patch with some minor balance changes to SOME specs. Atm the game is nearly dead, so few games etc, and when 2.4 patch comes the first days will be ok and then ppl will start leaving again cause guess what? Nothing changed!
Anyway for me depends on Mod, if it is like PD2 i will play Mod only. Its far better than the original game.
I would play mod for sure … As a matter of fact i am currently playing PD2 Over D2R.
People want to compete and see their progress. No ladder and no leader board = no reason to fully commit.
People are waiting for ladder and most thought that they might start it as early as January. That’s why numbers decrease since December. Nobody thinks it’s worth to start something new because ladder is around the corner. Also most players don’t stick to d2 24/7 and play nothing else. They rotate games. Without ladder many people prioritise other games until ladder starts. Same happens in PoE and other arpgs.
You guys behave like you are 12 years and have no prior experience with games like this.
You are funny.
I know all these you said, If you dont see that nothing changes with the current 2.4 patch, then visit a doc. I do have a lot of exp with this game specificaly, so i do know why ppl quit the game waiting for ladder etc, but nothing will change as long as there are so limited things added to the game, to specific specs and as long they dont see feedback for some forgotten specs since their day 1.
2.4 won’t change anything about the population of the game. Ladder will. If blizz wouldn’t suck at announcing things, we would have far less stress and healthier games.
If you think that big changes like 1.10 would generate a higher player base over the years then you are lying to yourself. D2 isn’t a game with constant development and added content, else we would have a subscription, lootboxes or other money generators. But it’s a good game to revisit and ladder helps to not feel left out.
How do you know is not? Old blizz disbanded so we cant know that!!! simply as that.
Ladder wont bring ppl back if NOTHING changed, New content, end game content, balance changes will bring players back and not something we already do for 20y. Lol wake up
Because there is no permanent income.
Maybe you need to wake up. Every ladder people came back - No Ladder = No people. Every PvM game has a declining playerbase, even WoW with continuous updates and content. Also PvP games have a high fluctuation when new things arrive. But people always get back to the good ones. Not all, but many.
D2 won’t ever get back to the huge playerbase it had at the start. You can change all you want, but your chances would be higher with D4 then with D2R.
Keep dreaming buddy
Yeah whatever, your tiny brain cant go bigger puritist kid
Edit: When you dont understand why ppl leave and why ppl will will come back. Pointless chat.
Now the insults come flying as there are no arguments left.
That’s why discussion with braindead monkeys like you are senseless.
Waiting for Mith and Hanz to arrive because I insulted you.
