Here comes the question… eth giant thresher or just eth thresher and Why? In practical terms, the differences is almost close to 0 (0.5dps) among these 2 weapons, but would you still pay more than a vex for an eth giant thresher? Thresher also has lower level and stats requirements to equip, but ppl would argue that, by the time you need the conviction aura, you’d most probably already in your level 6x in hell mode, make sense too, but what’s your take?
The reason thresher and giant thresher are most popular despite having lower dps than cryptic axe is the speed.
Faster speed means more hits, more hits mean more life leech procs. Giant thresher is better since it has longer reach but I don’t think it is a huge difference, either will do well.
even more important than the leech is the crushing blow proc rate if you hit faster you get more crushing blows in over a given period
The reason I’m asking is also partly due to the fact that eth giant thresher is twice the price of an eth thresher. Ideally, if you plan to craft and use it yourself, probably thresher is fine but in the event if you ever plan to resell it becuz you’re an@l over the ED not rolling high tier and wish to reroll again, giant thresher would probably have an edge in the resale department, that’s my take tho otherwise, either weapon is equal?
yeah really anything that gives even a slight advantage can cost a ton more, i mean the value difference between an item that is perfect and 1 that is 1% bellow perfect can be shockingly high.
to be honest, the runeword itself is also very expensive as it requires 2 Bers, so, I’d still probably recommend giant thresher since it’s end game equipment already, just do it in the best base possible even if it’s 0.5% better xD?
yes and no because you don’t know how the infinity will roll since rolling a 255% giant thresher is going to be worth less than a 300%+ thresher in the end you would have saved yourself that upfront cost of the thresher vs giant thresher still got more dmg over all and could sell it for more in the end.
that’s the problem with rng is that it is rng you could buy the more expensive base and reroll the runeword multiple times but you could buy the cheaper base and sell it to recoup some cost and buy a 2nd base.
I’m pretty sure that I can get a badly rolled ed at slightly below 2 bers. I’ve checked traderie, a 268% ed is going for 2 bers which could potentially be low balled to below 2 bers too :P, so in a nutshell, I recommend ppl who are not perfectionist to buy a ready made for the conviction aura since you’re gonna be the one dealing majority of the damage instead of your merc, the infinity is mainly there for conviction purpose only.
for someone looking to make the absolute best yes go for the giant thresher but for anyone looking to make a decent one i would go thresher if you get a bad roll on either giant thresher or just thresher you will be able to sell either for about 2 ber which means that you roll bad you lose double the value with the giant thresher but when trying to make bis gear that is the trade off.
For anyone who wants optimal but doesn’t care about perfect, either would work. I would lean toward thresher because +1% ED difference is enough to put the thresher on top so not really worth the cost of the base.
Noone going to care if it’s in a thresher or giant thresher, just make it in an eth thresher like 99% of people do, there is no substantial difference in performance, and both are better than other options (GPA is probably the next best). Ethereal 4os giant threshers are EXTREMELY RARE, which is why people don’t use them. Do not make it in a CV, the stat requirements and speed suck.
Yeah, I agree with this.
An eth CV is fine for an insight since that’s cheap, but an infinity will be worth a good bit less on a CV compared to thresher.
i use eth colossus voulge just because big damage number. efficiency is for suckers
