I mean if someone quit playing D2 then yeah idk, I guess. Most of us here are still playing D2(R) tho, so stuff actually matters to us.
I get it man, most everything I acquire whether it’s cool or good or interesting or not, I simply have to throw away. I don’t want to, but I have to, because there’s simply no space for such things anymore. Idk the solution, Idk where that lies between “20 characters vs unlimited” and “expanded finite stash vs smaller unlimited stash” but I know it doesn’t lie at “20 characters only and deal with it, or pay us 40 more dollars lol”
so just because i don’t think hoarding useless items is efficient, means i play softcore, again, WHERE IS THE LOGIC? good grief.
just because you play hardcore, doesn’t mean you have to keep LITERAL garbage stashed away, and then complain that you can’t PLAY THE GAME, BECAUSE OF ALL THE JUNK YOU STASHED AWAY. give me a break, this person isn’t very smart.
and we don’t even know what version the OP is playing, they just keep too much junk on mules to make new characters, seems a bit backwards to me. if you’re not holding ONTO items for SPECIFIC characters to be built, you’re doing it wrong.
Even if you don’t horde items, if you want to keep past characters around your accounts going to fill up in a few seasons. Someone who plays both hardcore and softcore will be struggling for space pretty quickly.
I’m in the same bot. I normally carry gear for characters at multiple stages of leveling. Seeing as how I play through the game instead of just rushing all of my characters it takes up a lot of extra space.
I hold on to gear that will suit characters I plan to make in the future, which usually involves holding multiple viper magis, shakos etc. I would rather not pass a single copy of it around to all of my characters, that would drive me nuts.
There just isn’t enough space with the character limits we currently have.
Eh, another shared stash tab would be nice. I certainly wouldn’t squawk. But it currently works OK. You can use mules. You can’t save every unique/set item no matter how crappy it is. In POE where you can buy stash tabs for $2 each I had 20 tabs. Filled with tons and tons of crap. Was a headache to keep track of it all. Though the specialized tabs for currency and maps were very nice.
Pack space is a much bigger issue in D2. The problem being the charms mechanic, and needing to portal back every few minutes while farming. That’s what really needs fixing.
That’s kinda the point of stash space limitations. It’s there to force the player to make a choice. Yes we quickly found ways around it back in the day by making a crap-ton of mules to store stuff, but that gets unwieldly quickly. Most stuff we keep isn’t worth keeping at the end of the day. Perhaps a few low level items for twinking alts, and of course items for trade/top build gear but that can be relatively easily managed.
I just end up giving away tons of stuff or joining a game and dropping. You won’t need to keep much with ladder coming the NL prices will continue to drop and you can always get the stuff again another time for a lot less.
You could make as many full accounts as you wanted with one CD, that’s what I meant by “infinite.” Muling was a pain in the behind, but space was still infinite.
