I was having so much fun making melee assassins and fixing this bug took away my will to play.
Melee suffers greatly in this game and this bug felt like it was amazing for balance.
I have no desire to play my melee characters now, and thus no desire to play Any character now that its been fixed.

Sadly. After some patches and bug fixes it seems that D2 players (most of them are original D2 players) are huuuge bug users and cant play legit.

Op is partially right, melee classes feel like garbage now. Basically almost everyone who benefited from the attack speed bug was behind other classes (bowzons, barbs, maybe assassins). They could put an additional breakpoint so they scale better with better gear, but some builds need to be buffed regardless because they’re so bad and uncompetitive.

Assassins were behind other classes? Wow, tell us more please

why dont you try making and non-Paladin melee class and tell me how far you get
Tell me you suck playing melee chars, whitout actually telling me. But I got to hand it to you, a bit of IAS cap increas wouldn’t hurt.
The game felt right with it and now it doesnt, what is so hard to understand about that?
the IAS bug isnt even relevant to you quoat as it simply adds power to under preforming melee classes/builds in the end game thus making the game for FUN with more variety.
would you like me to rephrase that for you a third time?

No, game did not felt right, are you crazy? Go watch mrlama or dbrunski when they tested it, they could not stop laughing how broken it was.
Why it should not be relevant to me? I play melee characters so it is relevant for me just like for you. The fact is it was broken as hell. Bugs are supposed to be fixed.
You can rephraze it even 10x but you will still be wrong. It was bug, they fixed it. End of story. And again, no it wasnt right.
If we want to shorten gap between melee and casters, melee chars should be buffed differently. For example with splash dmg or with every point of strength = + add dmg(same stat as grief has), only invested points.
How about, and this is a crazy idea here, we fix melee by balancing the skills of the relevant classes so that, while difficult to play, they also come corresponding advantages when the player figures his way around the challenges? Like, I don’t know, giving warcry a secondary effect from battle cry and having frenzy deal extra damage to battle cried enemies, or berserk giving splash damage to double swing, or removing some of WW’s weaknesses, or giving bowazons something to play with between the crap non-starter runewords and stuff that needs jah. You know, instead of doing lazy things like removing the ias caps and calling it a day, which doesn’t actually solve anything.

paladin can kill ubers with low/mid grade gear they find from leveling up.
any other melee needs magnitudes of gear higher to do the same thing.
I kill ubers with paladin, I kill ubers with kick sin, I kill ubers with wolf barb AND wolf druid.
I know how to play idiot. go troll someone else. you literally said you agreed with me???
are you people literally not smart enough to understand that the game needs balancing and this bug actually balanced the game for the better

Let blizzard fix the bugs. If classes are over/underperforming, they can be balanced.

Lol hammerdin is legit because of a bug that they left in because hammers sucked at the time.
The bug didnt balance anything, if you think that not enough IAS was huge deal, you know very little about the game.
You are right, Hammerdin sucks until 1.10.
Melee assassins were. And they are the ones that benefited the most. Laying down Lightning Sentry faster really isn’t that useful. Kick assassins werer MUCH better with the IAS bug.
Oh, and since the bug was in the game from the launch of D2R, I didn’t even know I was using a bug. I had stacked all IAS and Burst of Speed was at 20. I assumed I was supposed to be attacking that fast.
Ideally this is what will happen, but we still don’t know how much changing they plan to do to this game. If they have no intention of rebalancing anything, then leaving in bugs that allowed more build flexibility would be preferable to nothing.
At the end of the day, diversity and more options for players to customize and explore with their characters imo should be the goal.
How does it feel to want?
