You jest but it’s actually a good design. If you feel like just doing the end game item hunt, then go get carried. If you want to go through the acts yourself, then do that. Options are better than no options. Enjoy the game how you want to play it.
I went pure martial arts assassin.
Cobra strike charge & dragon claw finisher along with 5 points in claw mastery and 5 in weapon block. My assassin is only lvl 27 and I’m in act 4 on normal.
Also done it without any use of runewords.
If you need help, ask for it. There are typically many who will join you and help out. As toxic as this community can be at times, it has its moments where not even the TON-618 black hole could it steal its light.
But…
At least give the current task at hand a few tries yourself… It’s always a good thing to know your limits. You won’t ever learn your limits if you constantly rely on others help at the first sign of trouble.
Lol got carried into next act…threads about act 3 will be fun to read…
Heh… Undead Stygian Dolls are gonna make him think Duriel was hitting him with big pillows.
Err, wait, I’m thinking Hell difficulty. Hehheh.
Reminds me. The first open game I made, I did not need help, in fact, I only made it because I was confident I could clear by myself with more people in the game. It was going good for awhile, I was basically carrying act 2 for a couple necros and a barb, but eventually an enchanter showed up, and it turned into a rush… sure, we killed the things, but i kind of felt cheated…ya know, because I went through the trouble of twinking out my character and everything lol(6x low lvl max dmg jewels in bow, 3x max dmg jews in mask + sigs gloves/belt/boots + angelics rings/ammy/armor(angelic armor sleeper OP early)). I shouldn’t have let it happen tbh. Next time, I’ll make sure to make the game with max character level difference.
I just see noob crying. And PoE is not that easy and delve 5000 yeah you wish.
I didn’t read your whole rant comparing d2 and Poe but I can tell you I nicknamed the act 2 boss the noob killer. Everything is fun and easy when you start in normal until you run into duriel. For a beginner he’s probably the hardest boss cuz you meet him early (skills and gear still low) and you can’t run away. All the remaining bosses will probably give you an easier time.
As for defeating duriel, instead of whining or asking for help from another player, you can google strategies based on your character. When I was a beginner and didn’t have google I pulled it off without help by feeding my act 2 merc with rejuvs and health potions while attacking safely. And using a ton of tps to retreat when needed. Safety tp always open. Hit and run. Or just play as a necro and it’s a walk in the park with iron Maiden and clay golem.
This isnt PoE. If you dont like it, dont play it. A 20+ year old game is not that difficult. Youre either bad or too lazy to put in the work and iterations to actually finish a game
I think is must be a troll post. Bosses can be hard if you aren’t prepaired but why would you play a game with no challenge.
Id suggest ways to help but i don’t know what class or build you are. In normal difficulty the bosses dont regain health so you can just make portals and go in and out.
I beat hell in hardcore with little difficulty and ive literally never used a thawing potion. Although to be fair ive been playing the game since before LoD.
Some classes will always struggle with normal duriel. Sorc, bowazon but its doable. Hit and run. Embrace the challenge. It makes success feel far better
POE is far easier than this game, so stop lying.
Step 1 - farm forgotten tower for runes act 1 black marsh
Step 2 - create runeword
Step 3 - finish normal in a few hours
Stealth is a no brainer, and Malice is my go to standard before Insight.
PoE has been getting buffed for 10 years straight now. I remember back when there were 3 acts, it was about as hard as Diablo 2. You had to use the OP skills to have an easy time. Freezing Pulse. Nowadays everything’s been so buffed that any skill with any support gem one shots everything.
Unfortunately, in its current state, the game is intentionally hard for solo players. Synergies + immunities were originally created to encourage players to work together in a party.
If you like PoE so much, try playing Path of Diablo. It’s a better game than vanilla Diablo 2, only, you won’t be able to play with the new graphics.
This game IS dated. It’s especially true regarding trading. There’s not enough fresh faces. When the game was new, there were constantly new players coming into the fold. There were always people to trade with. There were always games available for whatever you wanted to do. It was easy to make friends. There was always something happening because the game was still new. The game is over 20 years old. What do you expect?
PoE is great, but it has terrible resource management… like most indie games. Also, without the currency objects, the game would be kind of bad imho. Way too much going on for absolutely no reason. It’s only good because of the way currency works, and how awesome the trading system is.
