I remember Playing DII on Dial Up Internet

One thing I’m glad about with D2R is localized servers for AU players…playing on a 40ms connection as a Tele Sorc is AMAZING! I Rarely ever die!

To think I played DII on Dial Up 20 years ago…with 500-700 Ping most the time & died all the time trying to Tele to Meph…

Diablo wasn’t around at the time of dial up internet, I just checked online, and I know you’re lying. I don’t have a problem with making a fiction, but at least tell people.

You what…?

Dial up was a thing as recently as right now. You can still get aol dial up internet.

I had Dialup until probably 04. Just because DSL was becoming a thing doesn’t mean he is lying. It was not available everywhere when it launched…

You might want to check the news, I think you’ll be fairly surprised.

I am genuinely confused, what is your point?

Around 28% of the US was still using Dial up in 2005.

My point is look up when Diablo 2 was released…

You have to try harder than that.

Look up Diablo 2 on Blizzard. It TELLS you how old it is.

It came out in 2000.

See the inconsistency…?

I’m struggling to find a reason to reply at all to be fair.

" Broadband started to replace dial-up in the early 2000s, with half of all Internet users possessing a broadband connection by 2007."

I remember trouble shooting my dad’s E-machine for him in 2002 (he had dial up). This was in the Phoenix metro area.

If you’re not a troll, you’re a moron. People were still using Earthlink, AOL, Mind Spring, and a few others at that time lol. Everywhere is not where you live, and every life doesn’t mimic yours.

BROADBAND is not DIAL UP.

Once again, you mention 2007, you mentioned 2000 before.

Show me where I said it is?

Are you suggesting that there wasn’t even dial up when d2 came out? Are you suggesting the internet wasn’t available?

I understood your comment as saying that Diablo wasn’t around during dial up (which means broadband/DSL).

Either you are a really bad troll or you are very mixed up in what you seem to be thinking.

Most people had dial up in 2000. By 2005 more people in the US had broadband instead of dialup.

Lol, you must be trolling. I played on Dial-up Internet too called NetZero.

Yeah, generally speaking, time is linear like that.

Actually here’s an example:

  1. You posted this comment 3 minutes ago. 1:52 am.
  2. I’m putting you on ignore now for being a horribly stupid troll. 1:56 am.

See that consistency?

DIAL UP. Why mention broadband at all? I didn’t say broadband wasn’t around at the time, I’m talking about DIAL UP!!!

NetZero was 56k modem, and I played Diablo 2 on it back in the day.
