I never picked up large charms until today and holy crap!

In the decade playing LoD I never bothered with large charms. Even the streamers only have grand and small charms in their inventory. Today I picked up a large “Sharp Large Charm of Vita” on my way to hell Mephisto and it has +6 to max damage, +36 AR, +34 life. Not bad!

Nice find. I have had terrible luck with charms since D2R launched. Still haven’t found a AR charm of any size.

Yeah, they can be really strong, my only problems with them is that they’re awkward to budget for space wise but a +skiller with a SC of +whatever takes up a complete bar and has things you can’t get on large.

These last few days I found a ton of skillers myself from +1 to cold to +1 summoning skills, they usually don’t have great life rolls associated, think the best one has +29 life.

Oh and I found a +175 poison large charm as well remembering me that large charms are not that bad.

That’s about the best you will get. If you want 40s health you need ilvl over 92, which is pretty much just baal that can drop it.

I’m farming Baal alright but it’s pretty rare that he drops charms at all.

Most of my skillers come from Chaos Sanctuary tho which mean they do have the possibility to roil 40 life, I actually had 40 life charms (no skill) there.

If you can’t afford a full inventory of skillers, the large charms are worth picking up, why not?

Stop reading the guides and try to understand the game yourself

Good find. They are great for early on but you will replace them eventually with large skillers and smaller charms!

LCs can be decent while you are building out your inventory of charms but for the most part they are trumped by SCs. For example SCs get 3% FRW or 5% FHR but LCs only get 5% FRW and 8% FHR, less than double :frowning:

Besides GC skillers, SCs pretty much can get better stats per 1 x 1 slot for any particular mod than LCs/GCs. I’m pretty sure the ONLY mod that a SC cannot beat is a GC with +10 max damage as SCs can only get +3 max damage so having 3 of them would fall short by 1.

I always grab them. Typically they are junk but I’ve got a few nice necro skills charms.

I think some of the stats on large (2x1) charms should be revised to make them more useful… Otherwise they’re going to continue to be mostly ignored/replaced by small/grand charms.

Example, all resist…
Small - max 5%
Grand - max 15%
Large - max 8%… Why? WHY!!! Just make it 10.

players will often give puls, ums and mals for +to skills gcs. if the extra mod is good you can even get more. if YOU dont want them then trade them for what you DO want.
