I don’t mean I don’t like the new one. The backdrop is nice, so does looking up close on the geared up character.
Act 1 backdrop also reminds me of that Witcher 3 Ciri + Bloody Baron vs Basilisk fight every time.
However, i don’t get an overview of my characters. I usually keep my characters spread out in different folders (I’m mainly a single player player and move characters in different folders for different “purposes”, e.g. holy grails 1 and 2, hardcore, random ssf builds, hero edited test characters, socket quest mules, etc.).
It’s really nice to log into my “holy grail” folder and see this: https://i.imgur.com/kLFg871.png. Or into my SSF folder and see this: https://i.imgur.com/VXMP53r.png
Just looking at them and remembering what are those about. Seeing the dead HC characters in black robes and remembering how they died. Seeing alive HC characters in combat stance is a great touch too.
D2R loading screen is more about playing 1 character once in a while, with the backdrop giving you a reminder of where is the character now (clearly for playthrough immersion purposes). Dead hardcore characters just standing “naked” - is a disgrace though. Bring back the robe!
D2 loading screen is about having a bunch of characters and having an overview of them. It’s also much more functional when you have a lot of characters (easier to find the necessary one thanks to having all character models seen at a time)
i’d have to disagree completely on why you think diablo is about.
i have one character. that’s it. for me i want to find all the best high end loot, i don’t want to trudge through the game 7 different times on every class. nope. no thanks. did that way too many times already.

That’s great, congratulations. Most other players enjoy playing as much of the game as they can, and not limiting themselves to one fish in a veritable ocean.

and the reason i have one character, is that 1.10 has been out for over a decade already, i’ve explored every build, we don’t NEED to do that anymore. please, this game is so old, we do not need to explore every build and do grails, the ONLY item i have left to find is tyreals might, and the search continues, i’m sure MOST diablo players that have been any decent amount of time have almost already finished finding everything even if it’s not their goal. /endrant. leave me alone.
yeah, you taken it out of context and missed the contradistinction. I mean what that loading screen is optimized for, D2 vs D2R. I will correct it to make it more apparent. Sorry if I confused you.
I agree with the title. The new one is very generic. I feel the same way about the Warcraft 3 menus as well. (The menus that changed with reforged release whether you bought the new game or not)

I dont like fish, but im not going to announce it at a long john silvers, because some of us dont go through stuff with self absorbed blinders my dude.
I Used to build every class, with their full high tier sets every ladder once i got bored of the meta and loved seeing them all on one screen. My little army, plus it was easy to navigate, and lets be real, the character select screen is a little clustered, and very Console-esk.
Give us a “PC” option, and make this one the “Console” option.
I’d use a pure black background screen over the new one myself, because sometimes i wish i didn’t see the way my character looks like upclose XD
