It is a eth cot corona base 186%ed but the defend is only 491…which is the same as before i upgrade it. Bug is in Ladder d2r.
For the millionth time people… UPGRADING ITEMS IS NOT GUARANTEED TO GIVE YOU HIGHER DEFENSE.

Corona 111-165 Defense
Ignoring the eth calculations (cause they don’t really matter), Crown of Thieves will get a base defense of 114. This is because items that roll % ED get max base D + 1. Then the 186% ED is applied.
When you upgrade to a Corona, you are NOT guaranteed to get the max defense on the roll. Your new base defense will be in the range of 111-165.
So it’s possible to roll the exact same or even less defense. While it’s a very small chance in this case it’s still possible.
This in itself is not a bug. There’s another post where someone claims they upgraded the same item 6x and got the same defense each time. If that’s the case then it’s possible there is a bug as the statistical likelihood of that is almost impossible…
But based on rerolling 1x and the info you’ve provided this is simply not a bug.

Correct, though usually people encounter this issue going from Grim Helms to Bone Visages.
I tried twice in a row and I get the same issue where the def is the same. What are the odds, it really seems like a bug to me.
The person that did the same item 6 times and got the same def, what is the item ?
I don’t remember exactly which item it was but it was also posted in these forums… I think probably vamp gaze or crown of thieves. If you did it 2x and got the same defense that is more unlikely (but still possible). Once you get into 4x+ territory it gets extremely unlikely just from a statistics point of view.
