I heard that if you use a game pad you can set one of the game pad buttons to automatically grab loot off the ground.
I never win loot snatches with my mouse clicking even when I prepare the battle field by pressing the alt key down that highlights all items on the ground.
IF this is the case I am gonna go to GameStop and get a computer Bluetooth compatible game pad.
Please tell me if this is or isn’t true- I don’t want to go into GameStop and get emo goth girls following me around again asking about my World of Warcraft hoodie and if I they can game at my house. ( I am a very recognized person and I can’t even disguise myself in World of Warcraft gamer clothes)
sadly… that is a bit true, with a game pad, you just have to spam a button to loot all things around your feet, even before it fall on the ground.
just hope blizzard can nerf this sh1t on PC .
Thanks Gnou- Mmmm it looks like I am going to Best Buy or maybe GameStop ( less people but more cramped)
I need to make sure using this game pad autoloot button is NOT considered cheating by Blizzard - am I right? I know in Werld of Grindcraft that people get banned by Blizzard for using those programmable computer macro buttons that work on the expensive keyboards which does cool stuff to choose which attack to do according to cool downs.
But this autoloot option via GamerPad is not cheating right?
I should email Blizzard bosses on this before I buy on maybe a super important Green letter person can answer instead?
it is true. mash the A button for the items. No it is not considered cheating. Its a feature that the development team put into the game. Its not the players fault for utilizing it. I wouldnt say its “auto” loot you still have to hit buttons.
They catered to gamepad players it seems like. User interface and everything changes. Feels like a different game at times. Mixed feelings about it, but I was asking for controller support for a long time. Lots of hours playing with the mouse and keyboard so it’s nice having a change in regards to hand positioning and button smashing.
In computer you have to click on the item- you can’t just click - well you can but it is more likely than not that the click will tell your avatar to move not to pick up… ok I am gonna go jump on over to the store… I guess a standard Sony game boy joy pad thing will work as long as it has windows compatible design - any cool game pad you got that you recommend works great with Diablo?
I’ve used the xbox one without any issues mainly because it’s native to Microsoft and if you are running Windows don’t need to worry about compatibility. Plenty of third party software to support other controllers such as Sony though. A word about spamming the pick up button for loot, it probably works well on bosses where there isn’t a lot of loot on the ground. Try it on a dense area and your inventory will fill up super quick and might miss the loot you intended to get.
get the cheapest of the cheapest you can. you dont need a fancy controller. $20?
Just get an xbox controller, it’s not worth the hassle to get the software with PS controllers to work correctly. The main problem with a ps controller is when you try to connect it through Bluetooth, it basically hogs up your whole driver and you can’t use any other BT devices while you have it connected. Not to mention that most of those 3rd party programs are rumored (some proven?) To be malicious or Trojans. Just get the Xbox controller
I love being able to use a controller though! It’s nice. They did a good job making a transition from mouse and keyboard to a controller. If they could update the interface for mouse and keyboard or make it a toggle feature that would be cool. More buttons for spells. It’s comical they allow more buttons on a controller with less configurations then a PC keyboard and mouse combo. Also if the looting thing could be addressed in some fashion perhaps allow rolling like wow does with class items need, greed, or pass rolls. Hmm idk but I avoid online multiplayer groups for the looting thing and also the quest skipping. Groups are nice for extra xp, getting help from players when you’re stuck or want to help others out.
If your controller has turbo, sure.
It kind of is auto loot grab half way when you don’t need to move your mouse across the entire screen to pick something up.
Yes it’s true. And it’s all the more reason to introduce random timed loot assignment in public games as an optional mode of play.
