Will there ever be an option for respecting out skill trees, removing gems/jewels from gear or even a pet that picks up gold…or to even have our companion, do so?
Im surprised it wasn’t a feature offered in the remake, but I’d still like to know as it would certainly open up the 3 big improvements, I’ve always wanted from D2 the other two versions addressed.

I wasnt aware, when I first played D2 I didnt have net, when I finally got it, all people talked and cared about in the game were those crazy charms with all of the bonuses, you couldnt even leave the camp, you’d die instantly! lol
“PKers”
The reward for the very first quest let you do that for free, 3x since there 3 difficulties.
Besides that you can create Tokens.
Combine in Horadric Cube = Hel Rune + Town Portal scroll + Item
There is a auto-gold-pickup feature that can be enabled in the settings.

Just be aware that this Horadric Cube recipe removes and destroys the items socketed into a base. So you keep the base item, but not the gems/runes/jewels that were placed into the sockets.
Thank you, that would have been disastrous. Maybe someday they will make such things as convenient as they do in versions 3 and 4. I want to test out builds but it takes so long to level you just have to make sure you get it right the first time. Even with the one respec you get, if it doesn’t work still, you are just stuck with it…like when you mess-up a rune placement.
U get 3 respecs total one for each difficulty lvl (Norm,Nm,Hell). After u spend all 3 u can get respec tokens by combining 4 different essences in cube that drops from act bosses, the blue one drops from both act 1 and 2 boss, yellow from meph, red from diablo and green from baal, all on hell difficulty. U can also trade tokens with other players. Just remember if u use quest respec u need to go back to the difficulty lvl where u havent used it yet
I’ve never finished the hell level as of yet to know about the essences, and if a build doesn’t work it’s not going to carry me to tougher settings lol That “I can’t!” and “I don’t have enough mana!” was more annoying than Navi saying, “Hey listen!” every few seconds.
Sorcerer and barbarian used too much energy for my play style to get very far with them, paladin and necromancer were always my best choices. Paladin would still be tough since its melee (precisely clicking each individual moving enemy/mobs) but the fire aura really saved my bottom when tougher mobs came…just like the skeleton army did for my necromancer. PLus when you are in a hurry, for quests or running from enemys, you tended to leave behind gold, an auto pickup upon dropping without having to run over every spot would have been great…or the pet option in later versions. Those quirks aside it was a fun game.
Well u do get a respec in act 1 of each difficulty (Norm/Nm/Hell) but if u are completely new to the game i would suggest looking at a few leveling guides on Youtube. There several good endgame builds for each class these days but they are not necessarily the best for leveling.
Yes the sorceress is pretty mana intensive to begin with at least until u reach around lvl 30 at which point there are several skill options that are less mana hungry. Once u get to act 1 nightmare i suggest u go farm the Tower located in the black marsh until u have the runes to make an Insight runeword (Bow or polearm) for ur merc and a spirit runeword (any 4os sword, pref crystal ) for urself, these should solve any issues u have with sustaining mana.
The sorceress is what many players consider the best starter build for a new ladder because its the only char that has teleport making early game bossing for gear and key farming for uber tristram (torch farm) ez. However its a pretty squishy char too and probably not the easiest char for a playthrough from a new players perspective.
The summon necro is one of the better chars for new players since it doesnt need much gear, all u really need is getting as much + to skill gear as possible and use corpse explosion once ur skeletons or merc kill the first few mobs. amp damage curse will amplify both ur skeleton and ur corpse explosion damage. A little trick to remember, u can kill any boss on normal difficulty with only 1 point clay golem and the iron maiden curse, i do suggest u put 1 point in golem mastery also, so dont be sad u skeletons dont survive at this level cause all u need is the golem which requires no corpse to resummon. This trick will be very usefull once u reach act 4 Diablo and act 5 Baal on normal difficulty since they will delete ur low level skeletons
As for the paladin. Hammerdin is by far the easiest for playing through the game, but normal is really ez with holy fire aura
There already is
You just have to play modded singleplayer
