I cannot complete that request

“I cannot complete that request” box pops up when I try to repair my Spirit Sword. All other items can be repaired.

Repair All button only works once the Spirit Sword is removed from equip.

is it ethereal /with opacity/ base item ?

This bug already existed on PTR. I think you had to relog to solve it.

I also got it pre 2.4 on two occasious involving the vendors.

I’m getting this bug attempting to buy a merc. My existing merc is empty, and I even tried killing him/new game/closing the client and relogging.

Update on this. When I tried to buy a different type of a2 merc in a nightmare game, it worked. But now I am getting the error again when I try to buy any type of merc. Just give me a higher leveled might merc please. :<

Got this bug today on a Spirit Long Sword. Not Ethereal. Was so confused at first I don’t think I had ever seen that message before.

Edit to say, once I changed games it went away and I could repair as per normal.

I am also having this issue. Unable to repair my Pattern Claws I just made in ladder (not ethereal). Any word from blizzard on this?

Made a new game and the problem went away

still exist. i cant sell paladin rare shield and this message appears

I was trying to sell a rare pal crown shield, and none of the merchants could complete that action giving me such a message.

It happened again for a different character in a different hell difficulty act with a magic paladin specific shield.

long standing known bug. paladin shields often cannot be sold to vendors until you make a new game.

This occurs from time to time in Single player too, last time when I tried to sell a freshly identified medium charm.
