So I decided to finish Hell yesterday on my Blizzard Sorceress so had to run through act 5 (off line mode). Anyway once I got to the ancients (I had pretty much avoided most combat up to that point) I could not understand why they were dying so slowly I kited the group for a good 5 minutes and my merc took forever to kill the cold immune last boss (even though his gear is not terrible). Then when I get to the throne room again everything was taking forever to die and Baal’s health was barely budging even when he was just sitting in Blizzard.
Turns out I had forgotten to change the player setting from 5. Sigh

You pushed through and against the odds came out victorious. I commend your efforts and celebrate in your success. Remember, there are people that can’t even beat act 2 norm Duriel or act 3 normal, they complain the game is to hard…You have made me proud!

That is nothing. I was doing Ubers offline and forgot I had it at players 7.

Give OP his due, it was quite the undertaking.
i did the exact same thing when i was in norm chaos like 3 days ago. it turned to players 8 for hellforge ( becuase i forgot they changed that to always be players 1 now in d2:R) and i coudlnt for the life of me figuyred out why choas was so much of a difficulty spike >.>
i had left it on players 8
just beat nm baal now, ( less than 10 min ago)
solo self found fury druid, hell is ganna be a real pain before 2.4 goes live, if i can get get a lem and a shel i can make treachery that thats going to help tremendously

I’m assuming with an Uber class build you have life tap and enough ias that no matter what /players you are on, you can’t die?
not necessarily, u still need enough resists/ hp to not get 1 shot, vs mephy’s conviction aura yes u will heal to pretty much full hp per hit, but life leech only helps if you don’t get 100-0ed
and u also need enough attack rating to reliably hit or a never miss move like smite
I thought smite never misses, I know it’s uninterruptible, which is amazing for Ubers.
- Smite is not affected by Attack Rating, so it never misses its target, regardless of defense and level of the target monster.
This is why a level 5 smiter can take down an Uber diablo, as long as he doesn’t get one shot.
True you would need enough hp/resist to not get one shot from mephs higher damage on p8.
i remember it took me like 30 minutes to kill the ancients in player 1 as a cold sorc… that is because I had no gear at launch and literally had to kill the ancients off with a level 3 lightning

not all moves are smite though… the rest of them require attack rating ( i mean guided arrows doesn’t either but i don’t see many bowzons doing ubers, sooooo i didn’t think it worthy of inclusion XD)
