I accidently deleted my character...Here is how

Friends I have messed up badly on this one. It might be one of my biggest mistakes on diablo 2.

Yesterday i was farming for a gem shrine. I kept remaking games and looking around cold planes, dark wood, Stoney field, and blood Moore for one. I was trying to get a perfect topez for magic find gear.

How does that make you delete your character? WELL, at one point when I was making the game the server complained. So I figured I should restart the game.

Boom exit Lobby

Click the big red X button to close diablo. (at the bottom right)

“Pop up? YES I want to leave the game. God those are so annoying.”

"Wait where did my paladin go? "

“%@#&!”

So I remade my paladin… I’m now further than I was before. Funny thing. When I remade my paladin I got to the cold plans and the 2nd shrine I come across is you guessed it! A gem shrine and it dropped a chipped topez.

Edit: It was a pain to restart but I took it in good humor. I just thought you all should get a laugh from it. Maybe it would be a good idea to make a person type their character name before deleting though. Haha

the X should be a trash can icon or make you type the character name or the word delete.

yeah they need to remove the popup for “quitting d2” and they need to change how the “delete character” button looks

Yeah they need to make it so you have to type the word delete to delete a character. The button placement in the UI interface is really wonky.

I think they not gonna change any visual elements soon (or ever). All they’ll do is to fix their product working.

The delete character button just needs to be a gray box that says “Delete Character.” When clicked it gives a popup that says “Are you sure you wish to delete CharName (Level x ‘class’)?”

So ignorant to have it like it is.

I always use the “Esc” key to close diablo 2. Or you could use Alt + F4.

On a side note, do not put Telekinesis on F4. I accidentally leave close the game once long ago.
