Is Hybrid viable for a filler fire spell instead of firewall? I know it doesn’t do as much damage, but if you have 6 of them, and they are all hitting the target, isn’t that more beneficial then trying to recast firewall trying to hit the mob?
I’m just curious if a full blizz with 20 in hydra would be worth for cold immunes
Well it’s a good Boss killer when all 6 Hydras shoot the same target. They are also usefull to surpress/pindown some enemies, when attacking groups, but then their dmg will scater, and you’ll need to back them up whit fire ball.
I can’t really see how blizz hyrda would work unless you are really willing to take your time, and I doubt that is the goal if you like blizz. Orb Hydra could work because you have more points to work with fire, but even then Orb/wall will be the faster killer. For blizz I think it has to be wall.
Of course most people will tell you if you are blizz just be pure. Probably good advice, but I love going hybrid because fun > efficiency!
So when I go hybrid with firewall, I just do 20 points, and then 1 point in mastery. I don’t do full synergies. I’m not asking for hydra full damage, but is is comparable with firewall damage, 20 points for 20 points?
Well it’s certainly a more comfortable skill than fire wall.
thats why i hate those changes a little bit… i cannot go and take a look in some skill-calcs to figure out whats the best combi… all the skill calcs are worthless now -.-

I can’t recall the math on fw vs hydra just 20 pt and done as I abandoned hydra as a hybrid with synergy nerf/revert. I suspect that with all six up focusing one target the hydras will out dps the wall.
I know for sure that (assuming any sort of grouping of monsters) if the hydras are shooting into a crowd wall will be far better. Wall is just not very synergy dependent.
Hydras shine more with the synergies making you more of a fire build, using fb as well. That is why orb is good with it, as you can spend most of your points in fire.
Compared to firewall damage will be lacking on stationary/slow targets. Personally I hate Firewall, Blizz, Meteor. Best thing to do is just try it and see how you like it. Worst it will cost you is a respec.
Hydra/Orb could be decent
Hydra Charge Bolt is awesome for pvm. If you have a Griffon and Phoenix monarch it murders the screen.
