Hustle - Consider Last Minute Changes

Oh so you havent played a barb or shaper druid SSF to end game.

You should try it, you might gain some empathy and understanding as to why hustle is now worthless to the very melee builds that needed the most help.

Good to know that you think allowing most unique weapons and rws in the game to become viable for melee during a play through is a dumb change

Such a low bar to brag about…

Level 30 Fant is 37% SIAS and 271% party damage. Level 85 might merc runs level 25 Might Aura which provides 280% ED.

Your net gain is 37% SIAS which might increase DPS a maximum of 20% on a good day.

Good luck beating any sorc running your A5 merc

I will after YOU gain some basic comprehension skills and actually discuss things in good faith, because you clearly haven’t understood anything or you’re actively trying to misrepresent everything I’m saying in the midst of your baby tantrums.

Stop thinking with your ego and start thinking with your brain like an adult. Not hard.

I agree on that point.

How rude.

Enjoy your faithzon while everyone steamrolls the game with the new best bow build in the game: enchant sorc.

I’m hoping the devs consider last minute changes to the Hustle Weapon. I know its a long shot at this point with the PTR ended, especially changing to a better name like Fervor, Haste, etc.

Charles the simplest change would probably be to just change the fanat in hustle to an oskill so you can buff it with plus skills.

Your probably right. Reading patch notes again, it says “Level 1 Fanaticism Aura.” It’s likely they just forgot to add “When Equipped.” Otherwise, it could be interpreted as an o-skill, which would be much better.

A streamer said that was a typo and it was aura when equipped but if its in fact an Oskill then its not a bad change at all.
Maybe someone can get dev confirmation?

Nightmare countess rune drop only goes to io, try again.

Nope, it was meant to help melee on playthroughs. To get a weapon to get going in nm/hell. The first design was crap and only useable as prebuff, which sucked. Now they tried to make it more viable in using as nm/early hell weapon, but it’s still not good.

Because prebuffing is a crappy mechanic and hinders your gameflow. People want to play and not juggle items to prebuff so they can start playing after 30 seconds each 2 min run.

Nah, they should just fix the issues of melees instead of implementing crappy workarounds.

One year after release we still havent melee fixed so this BoS change was best what we got LOL

Prebuff is better than nothing!

I stand corrected. From my understanding, the NM Hellforge has a 1 in 11 chance to drop a Ko rune as part of its quest reward.

Making a runeword with a ko rune is not “helping melee out through playthroughs” when you’re requiring them to farm hell countess for a ko rune which is now better to use on a harmony for mobility.

Idk about you but i only play melee and i never made a harmony for “mobility” because as a melee you’re preoccupied with actually trying to kill things and for that you need crushing blow. This thing doesn’t have crushing blow. This thing doesn’t have deadly strike, no OWs. It’s base enhanced damage is lower than a passion which is something else i hardly ever make because 250% ED is still simply not good enough for nightmare or hell which is why your default is always to farm for an oath at hell countess.

So now hustle is worse than harmony for mobility and worse than passion for actual main hand use. It only had use as a prebuff and still only has use as a prebuff except its mediocre. It blows me away and I can tell that everyone who looked at hustle did so in a vacuum without even considering the other runewords that already exist:

(Harmony for bows, passion, obedience, oath). Are all functionally better runewords and still hardly ever get used because they require runes similar in rarity to Ko and do not provide a big enough damage buff to justify farming them. In most cases melee is going to be better off finding a unique weapon and using that over any of these runewords (headstriker, butcher, nords, baranar, etc).

Because of the hustle nerf nothing has changed. You’re still better off farming for an oath and praying for a unique drop, except with the old hustle the pool of useable uniques was expanded.

To make Hustle more readily available in NM, in addition to changing Fanaticism Aura, they could simply replace the Ko rune with another Shael rune along with the other proposed change of changing Eld rune to Eth rune (making it Shael Shael Eth), which allows us to increase IAS on the weapon to 40%…

Hustle Weapon
Shael Shael Ko Eth Eld
5% To Cast Level 1 Burst of Speed On Striking
Level 3-5 1 Fanaticism Aura (or make o-skill)
+40% +30% Increased Attack Speed
+180-200% Enhanced Damage
-25% Target Defense
+75% Damage to Undead
+50 to Attack Rating Against Undead
+10 to Dexterity

On the Hustle armor, this would increase FHR from 20% to 40% (Shael) and add Regenerate Mana 15% (Eth), while removing +10 Dexterity (Ko) and 50% Slower Stamina Drain (Eld)…

Hustle Armor
Shael Shael Ko Eth Eld
+65% Faster Run/Walk
+40% Increased Attack Speed
+40% +20% Faster Hit Recovery
+6 to Evade
+10 to Dexterity
Regenerate Mana 15%
50% Slower Stamina Drain
+All Resistances +10

…
Fixed

Imagine we could start as melee with banana face saying “at last fk these sorcs&dins” in mind

I edited in a weapon with hustle’s affixes as it is and like… it’s so bad its still going to just be used as a prebuff swap :expressionless:
