Hratli's Ethnicity in Diablo 2 Resurrected

From the original Diablo 2 LoD I’ve always thought that Hratli was supposed to be like Southeast or South Asian (and of course in that universe Asia doesn’t exist), because of his accent and that his appearance resembles a typical Thai Buddhist. But I noticed that in Diablo 2 Resurrected his skin tone is darker and his facial features (press F to zoom) appear a bit more caucasian than I imagined before. Any thoughts on this?

(By the way he’s one of my favorite NPCs in D2.)

They screwed up all the characters honestly.

Screwed up might be a bit harsh for me. They all still look good in my opinion. But yes, some NPCs do look a bit different.

However, I have to admit I never thought about the NPCs’ ethnicity. But now that you brought it up, yes, Hratli does look a bit darker. He still looks good IMO. And personally, I thought act 3 was inspired by Maya/Aztec cultures.
