How to tell where diablo is running on computer?

I got a new desktop machine.
Copied all my D2 files over from old, to the directory I wanted it to run from, let’s call it “X”, which is exact same root/file-structure. (this worked without a hiccup when i did it on my other laptop “B” when laptop “A” was dying.)
I hit the launcher dot exe and went to the home page thing where you hit play… and D2 decided to “update”… I stopped it, D2 would not launch, so let it update… 32ish Gigs!
It made a complete copy/installation on p-files (x86)… what the heck!?

So the launcher/icon on my desktop points to directory “X”, but how do I tell which directory it is referencing/reading to be able to run?
Really don’t want an extra 32Gigs just chilling for no reason.

And, that “update” download took forever, I really don’t want to go through that again.

The default installation path for D2:R is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II Resurrected\

Using task manager and while the game is running, right click the game process, choose the option “Open file location”.

you can tell the Bnet client where the files are it might just be installing the game in the default file location

Thanks guys.
Yes, you can choose, which is what I did on initial install, however, having copied the files over to the new machine, the “update” did not provide any choices, it simply went ahead and installed to the default location… little frustrating.
Might just wipe it all out, an start fresh.

ok, it’s running out of the default location, I’m guessing I can delete the “x” location files… or wipe it all and reinstall… ??

I would say since you already went through with the blizzard app downloading the whole game into c:\program files (x86), then it is safe to delete the other installation copied from the other laptop.

click the gear icon near the play button
click Game Settings
locate INSTALL LOCATION box
click use a different folder

done.

Amazing!
Thank you so much.
Done deal… 32Gigs free’d up, and installed where I want.
