not to mention even if they botted the exact same amount of stuff that stuff split over 3 regions… that’s still only 1/3rd of the stuff that’s ended up in your region. and while this doesn’t translate directly into 3x longer ladder. it still has other benefits.
not only do they need to VPN in… if they currently have a pc running say 25 copies of d2:R for botting.
currently they can run all those bots on asia.
if they want to keep the same market share in each region… thats triple the CD keys and triple the computers. and triple the power… but they don’t need to there will be less demand in each region than there was in all regions together allowing them to focus on w/e region ends up buying the most… which is probably also asia
therefore what ens up happening in very few botters are left in the unprofitable areas at least until prices in the first ones start to drop… and that at least makes the ladder in these areas… last longer.
yes in every single scenario… asia is a total loss… but that not like its worse than it now…
blizzard cannot save asia, because it cant shut down the sell sites there… what it CAN do is amputate the festering wound that asia is to stop it infecting the rest of the world with botted items.
