How to fix Enigma and teleport problem

What makes teleport OP is not that it exists, but that it has no drawbacks for what it gives right from the start.
But even then i believe they should add teleport to more gear but with a little change.

IMO teleport should be nerfed

By giving it a cooldown of 2 seconds after use and 2 second pause to attack/cast spell.
Each soft lvl reduces the cooldown and pause for 0.1 sec
Synergize tele with static field with 0.1 sec reduction per lvl
and static field with tele with chance to stun an enemy like 5 % per lvl.

This way only sorcs would be able to use tele as masters without any cooldown and pause, while most others would be penalized, unless u get till the endgame where u rly have balls to the wall EQ with many +skills

And add Teleport GC

Changing the teleport skill to 3 or 4 charges of teleport per Clevel will balance Engima, then flawed gems and ral runes become more valuable.
For example, a level 70 character would get either 210 or 280 charges of teleport and a level 90 character would get 270 or 360 charges of teleport.
Cooldowns are a bad idea for teleport, that’s too severe of a nerf. Engima needs a small nerf not a big nerf.
Why not just remove the teleport all together and tell all the characters that aren’t sorc to go pound sand?

I’ve played since release of D2 way back, and loved it then, and love it now. I don’t understand all these requests to nerf teleport…

I do not want to be forced to play Sorcs, or be at a completely massive disadvantage if I choose a different class. I feel like this just comes from people who don’t want to farm / trade their way to Enigma.

anyone can buy a teleport staff with charges. repairs cost gold. gold is over abundent at high levels. so… everyone can teleport with no roadblocks.

i mean, i don’t like enigma, they could just DELETE the armor, a long with a few other things like mosaic, maybe even grief. or switch the runes so it’s more expensive. but they haven’t nerfed anything in diablo 2 for a long time, just more power.

Wow, someone’s breaking out the alt army.

this folks are insane wdf they keep yelling to nerf enigma go take ur behind to d4 or play another game. This is what happens when folks from other games come into d2 and want to nerf things so their class feels special.

Dont want any changes to Sorc teleport. No cooldowns.

But Enigma can be changed to have Charges of Teleport that replenish slowly instad of +1 Teleport

If we would nerf tele as i mentioned, to leave enigma a go to item, just slap +20 to teleport and u automatically remove all pause and cd.

This way u make tele more accessible but with a drawback on early game which i think is reasonable.

Must be ladder reset time, all of the Enigma “problem” threads, SSF and Ploot threads are popping up again…
We really do need to get a better weed killer for those! :smiley:

Enigma issue is a simple fix. I really don’t get why people complain so much it falls on deaf ears.

Put teleport as an oskill on level 91+ items restricting it to body armor, amulets, and helms. These items will become chase with good affixes. Especially 2/20/1 crafter ammies. Then we free up enigma slot for things like fort and treachery. My biggest gripe with enigma is it makes all other torso gear worthless. If we change like this some will still rock enigma. It boasts a huge strength buff MF and DR not to mention teleport. But at least we will have choice.

I’m thinking revised casting frames on the teleport skill for all classes, and maybe making this based on skill level somehow too, is really the way to go.

Capping it at 2 casts per second on the top end sounds more reasonable than the 3+ seconds we have now.

Thats a nice idea.
I also thought about increasing mana cost per teleport by 1 if you spam it fast. If you stop for 3 seconds it resets back to base mana cost.

Enigma needs nerfs yes, but not to teleport. The rw is SO good, even sorc players wear it.

MF could be removed, or 1 skill, etc.
