If I used an A5 merc with dual HOJ’s and a dragon do the fire auras stack 3 times all together.I know they stack on dual dreams or HOJ and Dragon but I didnt know if they could stack 3 times.

But I have a little doubt still, I have rememberance of them having to be the same lvl otherwise they don’t stack, but that might be from another era

Auras granted via runewords stack if it is the same aura. Dual HoJ’s and Dragon = level 46 Holy Fire Aura. Thing is on a Mercenary, you’re wasting your time since a level 46 Holy Fire aura WITHOUT SYNERGY BUFFS deals:
- Fire Damage: 597-609 to your attack
- Fire Damage: 99.5-101.5 passively
That’s NOTHING compared to this on a Paladin WITH SYNERGIES:
- Fire Damage: 3584-3654 to your attack
- Fire Damage: 597.4-609 passively
Keep in mind the Paladin can tap into Conviction aura(level 25) or relegate it to an A2 Mercenary and roll with Fanaticism to boost Physical Damage. If I were in your shoes, I’d roll with Grief + Lawbringer to grab its Decrepify, dual E-Headstrikers(if Physical Immunes aren’t an issue) or Grief + Plague(if you want Lower Resist curse) as opposed to HoJ/Dragon runewords. You’ll thank me in the end.
yes the auras stack, and in the case of the radial damage proc, the proc amount stacks too, so 3 level 15 radial aura will proc level 45 radial aura dmg 3 times (which is why holy fire was busted in the ptr)
why they don’t flat out remove aura stacking of the same aura from different sources is beyond me…
i never understood why they allow this bug to continue. this completely prevents anyone for ever ACTUALLY playing an auradin using skill points… and its not like paladin needs buffs
the paladin can have only 1 active aura with skills at once,this intended “bug” would make any auradin type firedin/tesladin/both pointless if they didnt stack,an auradins skill points dont go into the auras themselves they go into the synergies for fire and lightning and obviously conviction cause conviction is the active aura by skill points auradins use.Without the runewords stacking it would make it a completely pointless build.This wasnt a bug,it was intended this way to the point they made holy fire do more damage at close range
auras are not supposed to stack… this is the reason if you have your own holy fire aura and a dragon they don’t stack… its why if 2 players have the same aura or any other state like BO or oak sage the lower one is overridden by the higher one.
its why a lvl 21 conviction aura can completely override mephies lvl 20 aura making it not work.
the bug is that items are not supposed to add together.

it would probably take a quite a bit of coding to fix based on the fact it hasn’t been addressed, when they addressed the infinite aura stacking bug and the 13+ state stacking drop bug.
but no it was never intended to stack… auras were specially designed to NOT stack. and they dont stack, except in this one rare instance where u get an aura from an item.

Why they should remove it? Its not a bug. Aura stacking from items is intended way how it works.
Here is one fix from patch notes in past:
- Fixed two issues where players could stack auras in an unintended way."
So now it works as it was supposed to work after that fix back in 1.10 or 1.11.
A second item for an already equipped aura should just be capped at +3 like other skills (e.g. equipping +6 CtA on barb is capped at +3)

Also its different thing than cta has. Magic property is aura when equipped , not + 14 holy fire for example. Cta has +1-6 bo, not 1-6 bo when equipped .
Everyone went nuts about PTR auradin, and how OP holy flame is.
But it’s not holy flame, it’s the possibility to get an lvl 44 active aura without an skillpoint, and holy flame aura should not need to get balanced for 3 HR runewords…
Getting an lvl 22 aura would be uh “reasonable”. And it’s the way every other skill works, so it would be convenient. Instead “+ to all skills” could apply.
I have no clue whats your point. Yes a shout needs to get casted, because it’s not a aura, Mr. obvious. Still recurring patterns could get applied, and the +3 cap would be absolute suitable.
Lvl 3 cap would make all these runewords with auras useless. Great solution dude.
