I just sold 200pgems - 40 / Mal, but last week I saw someone selling 40perf amethysts for IST.
80PGEms = IST
40 P AME = IST
40 RALS = IST
Usually 40 Perfect Gems

Ok so I have bought over 300 pgems in the past 2 days. You can easily find 40pgems/mal in game. When I say easily… I mean I was able to buy ~200 within 10 mins. Sure some will ask to give 2 ums instead of Mal but u get the idea. But I also did see rooms wanting to buy 40 at ists too.
Wow, you guys should sell on traderie. You’re getting ripped off. I sell 10 P amethyst for ist pul a couple times a week. 40 pgems goes for mal or ist.

ppl selling less than this are losing out but that is their choice on how quickly they wish to move their stock.
reposting the detailed answer across several forums, currently:

40 gems (non- amethyst/Ruby/Skull) are an Ist, anyone telling you its Mal or less will take advantage of you and your price.
The best reason to buy 40 gems for a Mal is to resell it for an Ist a short while later (you could use it, but why bother when you can make double within an hour). But if you need to move stock and make room selling 40 for Mal (and therefore 100’s in a short time) will get rid of it FAST. Waiting for Ist can take a short while…but only a short while.
Amethysts are 2:1 compared to rest of gems; Skulls & Rubies are more variable ranging from 20-30 for Ist behind amethysts depending on who’s buying and how long you want the stock moved, rest are all equal. Sell across forums with players that dont keep up with pricing or stubbornly stick to their own price to take advantage of even quicker trades.
You can tell how many ppl in this post alone are behind with prices ranging from Mal to Ist (double Mal…) - this is how you profit.

Definitely agree with this.
In general i find its better to sell mid level currency (ie pgems of any kind, mid runes, crafting runes) on sites like traderie since you get a better deal.
For example right now ive seen 15-20 p amy go for ist but higher quantities like 40+ go for more (like 3ist, vex range) whereas on this forum you are less likely to get that deal.
Also as a side note, ive been in pub games and have offered um-ist for 40 pgems and sometimes ppl will throw in a buncha skulls, p amys too without knowing the price.
Like one time i got offered um pul for 40 pgems in a pub game and like got like 11 p amys as part of the deal.
