d2jsp has been around forever. You sell items/runes/services for forum gold and then purchase items/runes/services for forum gold.
Otherwise just make a game and state what your trading. Eventually LF Trade games will pop up and will put what they have in the window but might not be for some while unless they’ve already started - hard to tell with the lobbys.
Some ppl are using d2jsp and getting a lot more bang for their buck due to gaining FG (forum gold) to spend. Im using discord and PMing ppl for trades…
Well people used to make trade games but nobody does that anymore. Most trading is done on discord or D2JSP. But D2jsp is pay to win and you can pay real money for their currency and buy items. It’s a horrible standard and I refuse to go there.
What blizzard needs to implement is something that path of exile has. Trade tabs. Where when you place something in your inventory, in a specific trade tab, you then price it and it appears on a centralized website where people can search filter easily. They can then send you a whisper and you meet up in a game and make a trade.
I always played solo, now trying online in d2r but trade seems very beginner unfriendly. Also I’m against any real currency trading. Official Blizzard trade site would be cool.
I mean there is literally a dedicated trade chat channel with the ability to link items to chat. But no one seems to be using it at all. It is a direct and easy access option. beats me why no one is talking on it there.
Well they should certainly make it more user-friendly. Just put it in the drop-down as a default. Strange. But that could be the answer to your question. No one knows it’s there.
I don’t know what the general thoughts of other players about the lobby are, but I dont think they should be left alone as part of the remaster (as in put back the way they were) when they are fully functional.
There shouldn’t be anything wrong with modernizing social features especially since D2 was on the “old bnet” if I’m remembering correctly that didnt have a lot of the functionality we have now anyway.
Trade rooms and persistent channels would be a nice start.
i vaguely remember joining games named from “trades” to “tradesssssssssss” where ppl would just interact with each other showing their gg tradeables in the trade window and sometimes setup a deal.
Yeah that used to be the main way but there are so many other ways to communicate since then, it’s not used much anymore. Though I’m seeing lots of game names looking for a specific trades. Like, “4OSsword 4 Sol” would mean that you have a four socket (open socket) sword that you are willing to trade for a Sol rune.
I actually made the game last night looking for a four socket crystal sword, offering runes, I was able to make the trade. There’s also a description part in game making so you can add more details.
This might become the most viable way to trade again if they add search filters to game names.
Also diablo2 dot io has a cool trade forum but it’s been loading unbearably slow unfortunately.
Bliz used to have a D2 form devoted solely to trading, complete with “whitelisted” intermediaries who were certified trustable in handling/facilitating major trades or trades with special needs. Why can’t they just bring that back?
EDIT: This forum already exists. Why not use that one?
I cannot join a trade channel however i try, also i can not read any trade posts in game, even when it tells me that i am leaving the trade channel (which i never joined because i could not - yet somehow seem to automatically join periodically), there were no trade posts arriving me at all - guess channels are still bugged!
There’s D2r subreddits for Xbox trading. I haven’t looked but i’d imagine there’s one for each console. And PC of course. Don’t really like the concept of JSP and .io is typically slower than a Sloth working at the DMV
