How do I get to Act 5?

I searched reddit and forums and can’t find an answer. I hope someone here has it.
I am playing D2R on the xbox one.
I am a Necromancer, level 30
I killed diablo and got the message, game will end in (countdown timer)
I opened a portal, went to town, and got the “well done” speech from Tyriel, but that’s it.
The game ended.
I logged back in and still no portal to act 5.

I wondered if I, perhaps, did not have the LOD expansion, though I was under the impression that D2R came with that included. I looked for a place to purchase the expansion (just in case) and could not find any location for doing so.

Maybe I should also mention that I have not ever seen one rune in the game

What am I missing?

The same thing just happened to me on PS5. I couldn’t even get the congrats from Tyrael before it ended.

Ugh.

I figured it out! (On PS. I would think XBOX will be similar.)

Go to the character selection screen
Select the character and hit “change character”
Select “convert to expansion”
Select “yes”
Play the character.

I have no idea why I had to convert to expansion, or why there was a confusing and buzz-killing “game will end” timer, but it worked.

They really should have made this easier to figure out! An on-screen tool tip or something would have been extremely helpful!
