How do Berserk barbs sustain resources passively?

The wiki said that you can’t leech/life tap with Berserk so what do they do to passively keep health/mana recovering besides chugging potions?

Correct, Berserk is pure magic damage, so you can’t leach or LT.

Berserk has a flat mana cost of 4, regardless of level though, so I imagine with some MAEK and decent mana pool from BO it’s not awful to sustain. I’ve never done much with Berserk aside from as a method to take out PIs, so hopefully someone more experienced will chime in, but my understanding of the most popular build, the “Pit Zerker” the idea is to tele/leap into a Unique/Champ pack, howl away the non Unique/Champ, Zerk the Unique/Champs in 1 or 2 hits, collect loot and move on (possibly horking as well), so I suspect with that play style you’re not taking a lot of damage or spending a lot of mana if you’re only Berserking a few times.

Endgame Pit Zerker is using Enigma and Grief. This combo gives +25-30 life per kill, +2 mana per kill and 15% damage goes to mana. Also, add to the mix an act 2 normal combat merc with rune word Insight. He’ll regenerate both mana and health very quickly. No LL or ML required.

And so, when building a Zerker barb, consider those key functions, combined with a fat mana pool as mentioned above.

You beat me to it I see. But yep this. I actually like to run 2-3 mana SCs (or one GC) over damage/ar ones myself just so I can be even lazier for when I’m doing longer TPs.

Depends of what off set you wanna use though, and what your rares are. Tend to just use 2xHoto myself cause I’m lazy, and ain’t min maxing that hard.

This thread isn’t about enigma, how to obtain one or using money to buy items so please see yourself out. If you can’t stand engima is BIS, better invent a time machine and go back to early 2000s otherwise it is 2023 get the hell over it already.

It’s really not that hard to farm Trav you know.

Spec a lot of points into health and use Battle Orders so you don’t go down easy. With enough health, you will only need to chug potions on the hardest fights.

Other than that:

  • Avoid taking damage where you can.
  • Use Howl when swarms of enemies are too much for you.
  • Take advantage of Berserk’s massive damage boost to kill off units quickly. Berserk kills most units in 1-3 hits (the damage boost is absolutely massive), so you can kill most units without taking much damage. My offline Barbarian (level 60) currently has a +635% damage boost on Berserk.

Is it just me?
When lvling zerker I take 1 (aka 6) point in WW and Frenzy for speed and QoL. WW now and then deals with this problem.
