not sure if this was asked before
if I use conviction on my paladin for example, will the -rez apply instantly if the monster is in range, or only when the tick is made and the monster has the aura also?
The resistance reduction from Conviction only applies when the aura shows on the monster. There is a small delay between the monster getting in range and the aura taking effect.
Conviction only works when it appears under the target monster. Suffers an 80% penalty(20% efficiency) against Sundered enemies(so -30 as opposed to -150). Lower Resist and Cold Mastery suffer the same penalty under the same parameters. Conviction + Lower Resist stack and if you have all three, all the better. Any sources of -Resistance on gear(ex: Rainbow Facets) work at 100% at all times.
As the others have said Conviction will only have an effect once it appears until the target, all auras have a 50 frame (aka 2 seconds) “perdelay” in skills.txt that controls how often they pulse.
Not if the target is immune to that element, but if their immunity is broken or if they’re not immune then yes. I’m sure you knew that and just forgot to mention it though.
It was implied but yes that is correct. Monster Resistance has to be below 100 for any sources of -Resistance on gear(or Cold Mastery for that matter) to be applied. Prior to Sunder Charms, Cold Mastery worked at 100% against any enemy that wasn’t Cold Immune. Meaning if you could break it with Conviction, that monster was going to die to a Blizzard Sorceress. That’s partly why Cold Immunity is so difficult to break but now with Sunder Charms… she literally can go anywhere and dominate.
