By shiny items i refer to Pokemon’s system that makes a really really rare occurrence of finding a pokemon with special attributes
That applied to Diablo 2 Resurrected could be really fun and interesting and it would make it even more faithfull to the original game, to make it more thematic with the game i wouldnt call them Shiny but rather Legacy or Artefact unique items
What would Diablo 2 shiny be? its easy! Give uniques a Tiny odds of spawning with their 1.08 values
Ethereal items generation already function that way, so this would be the same thing but rather than being Ethereal it would be Legacy/Artefact items
1.08 is part of the original game… cant deny that
also, 1.08 items were after 1.10 and some might even be still around now, so its technically part of the original and current experience of the game
Having lets say, 1/1000 chance to Find a 1.08 Windforce or Arkaine Valour or Valkyrie or whatever else
1.08 items are part of the game and part of the folklore of the game, not reintroducing them is being unfaithful to the original experience of the game
1.08 Items are part of the history of Diablo, they are the ultimate chase items for those who play non-ladder
It would be quite easy to sell an 1.08 shako for thousands of $US. No, all this idea would do is incentivize real world trading.
Just an all around terrible idea, that doesn’t sound serious. It sounds like a troll, honestly. It really is as bad an idea as corruption and melee splash, maybe worse.
I don’t like this idea specifically, but I do wish they would just buff the old uniques that used to be best in slot. Ever since runewords were added, most of the uniques became inferior. I miss the old days of GF swords and WFs. I’d like to see them be competitive with runewords.
Can you imagine, in an alternate universe, if all of these demands, going back weeks now, were suddenly put into the game in one huge patch?
There would be pokemon all over the Rogue Encampment
There would be about 17 acts
There would be a giant statue of MicroRNA in the Chaos Sanctury
There would be packets of cards for sale at the venders with chance of shiny
There would be personal loot, smart loot, timed loot and fruit loop.
This is a much better idea. I’m still against it, but it is much better.
Windforce is still comparable to Faith in PvM, so I think it’s fine, but I certainly do miss the glory days of D2, I really hope someone does a faithful mod of 1.08 and we can play it over bnet.
I really hope those types of things are going to be allowed on bnet, and perhaps they’ll let us save characters and stuff that are only playable on each mod. That would be very, very cool.
