Hotkey Bindings Automatically Default Reset (PC)

So, I spent a little time setting up my new character, including hotkey bindings for skills. After logging out for a while, I decided to come back to my character and found all of the hotkey bindings I had changed had been automatically reset to their default settings.

Conditions:

  1. Online game mode
  2. Game was completely logged out of and closed after setting up new character
  3. PC was powered down prior to re-logging back into D2 and noticing hotkey bindings had been reset
  4. Character affected - Assassin

You may not have clicked the “Save Custom” option.

Press ESC > click OPTIONS > click CONTROLS
Make any changes, then click SAVE CUSTOM, then APPLY.
To load those saved key commands for a different toon, do the first 3 steps, then click the DEFAULT button and click the CUSTOM button to load your settings, then APPLY.

Ahh ok I didn’t realize custom key-binds were loadable. I did the “Save Custom” feature so I will look at loading them, thanks!

Something else you might note, at least from my experience: Every time I create a new Character, they have the game’s default Key Bindings. I have to go to the Options/Controls and select Custom and then click Apply.

It’s like: The first time you set up your Key Bindings for one Character, it’s saved as a custom Profile. But then, you have to apply that “Custom” Profile for every new Character you create.

I’m currently playing Offline. I assume it’s the same for Online Characters.

Hmm I don’t see that in options to select a custom key-bind build like you mentioned…

When I go to Options and then Controls, I see only Save Custom and Delete Custom

It’s not a big hassle to set key-bindings every time I log onto a character, but it does bring QoL of the game down a bit XDD

Under those you should see another row of three buttons: Apply, Default and Discard.
