So I realized today that I’ve been switching over to my alternate weapon to add +4 (2x spirit) to holy shield for nothing. I’ve been thinking it was casting it with 4 more levels then switching back to my main weapon to deal out some pain. I upgraded from spirit sword today to a +3 weapon fully expecting to be at +5 holy shield cast and being excited I opened the character stats screen as I cast it to see the new improvement. I realized the defense # was the same regardless of if I had my primary sword/board setup and cast it or if i had my +5 to cast secondary weapon setup. I’m positive this is suppose to give me 5 more skill levels by doing this (or at least in the past i was sure it worked that way)… Am I losing it or is there something bugging out on Holy Shield for paladins? I’m a Smiter so that holy shield is a big deal. Any input would be muchly appreciated and sorry for the novel.

just did a bunch of tests after what you said. definitely seems to be a bug. swapping out grand charms and then recasting keeps same defense/doesn’t change smite damage. my weapon swap with bo has lvl 29 holy shield, when i weapon swap and recast at lvl 28 holy shield my defense and smite damage are unchanged.
it is supposed to work how you thought: if you have +5 on your prebuff, that should carry over to when you weapon swap.

just bumping this post as it seems like something to be taken care of instead of let go. I appreciate knowing i’m not the only one that is seeing this! Where do we need this baby to go so it gets blizzard attention? Have a great day/night
