Just got into Hell and Im sucking, Blood Raven kiked my a… twice.
Here is my gear n stats:
Windforce, traded 4 it with a found soj
3 socket helm w topaz 60 mf
ammy poison res 22 mf
smoke armor 50 all res
sigons gloves n belt life leach
goblin boots
life leach ring w mf
mandal ring mana
multi dam 1422
strafe dam 2347
str 144 withgear for WF
dex 215
life 519
fire res 7
cold res -15
lt res 12
I suspect low res has a lot to do with it, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
could get Gface for helmet, give deadly strike and more crushing blow.
could try to get lay of hands for gloves, ias and demon damage and maybe string of ears for life steal and damage reduction.
I think the most impactful and easy thing you could work towards is to make an Obedience runeword in a spear or amazon spear for your weapon switch, and put 1 point into jab. Windforce with strafe/multishot can clear mobs better, but it can be slow to take down high hp targets like bosses.
Obedience is incredibly cheap to make (Hel Ko Thul Eth Fal), it has 40% crushing blow, and gives +20-30 to resistances. Another very important utility of Obedience for you is that it has a 30% chance to cast level 21 Enchant when you kill an enemy. From the description of your gear, your attack rating must be abysmal. After you hit a mob a few times with bow, just switch to Obedience and finish off 2-3 weakened monsters to get that enchant cast on you. This will give a 200% attack rating boost that lasts for 10 minutes.
Also, replace that manald. Windforce has enough mana steal. Your manald is basically just a +20 life ring. A ravenfrost would be ideal.
These are the equipment pieces I’d look at replacing.
Hmm, I’d probably replace the Sigon’s gloves and belt with Death’s Gloves and Belt. Upgrade the belt once to get max potion slots. Same IAS, Cannot Be Frozen, +15 all resistances, and +50% Poison resistances. That would allow replacing the poison resist amulet with something that gives fire and lightning resistances.
For the helm there are a lot of budget options. Rockstopper would give both resistances and damage reduction. Even just Lore helm would give 30% Lightning Resistance.
Alternate approach would be a Wisdom Helm (Cannot Be Frozen, Attack Rating, and 33% Pierce) and replace the sigon’s belt with Nosferatu’s Coil (10% IAS, Life Steal) and get some rare or crafted gloves with 20% IAS, + to Amazon Skills, and resistances, (especially fire and lightning). That would still be 30% IAS off the belt and gloves combo.
your gear is trash mate
u need fort
soe travs loh gface faith etc
Well personally I’d say if you get your a handed to you, it’s time to replace your mf gear because mf is only good if you manage to kill in a decent tempo and not die often, once you manage to kill faster again you can increase your mf again.
So Helm and Ammy into the stash and replace with something useful.
I’d increase your resistance if I was you, especially Fire and Lightning, but all is better if it’s an option, you might also want to put Antidote and/or Thawing Potions in your belt (they help a lot when facing Poison or Cold with your resistances).
And do you really need the Life Leech on you ring when you have 10 from sigon?
You should be taking many hits and keeping your distance, so slowly filling up after 1 or 2 hits usually doesn’t need much ll, maybe a usefull ring lying in the stash (like with resistance :P).
What you should use is hard to say as I don’t know what you can get, but anything that lets you kill faster or survive longer is better than what you have.
Amulets: should you happen to have Atma’s Scarab go for it, it is strong on a Multishot build. Otherwise just use the best you have which usually means best resistance you can get, could try a 1 or 2 craft Bloodcrafts increase r/w hp and lifeleech is always nice.
Ring: Well Ravenfrost if you have, but I asume you haven’t, so like the best ring you can get and again Bloodcraft is not bad to do a few on your level and mats can be done on NM countess and Cows, just don’t throw to many at it because otherwise the mats would have traded you better gear
Helm: So many good choices, again go with what you have or can get easily, would try to get some @res on this unless you happen to have or get your hands on good helmets.
I think Tal Rasha’s is pretty cheap now and would be a good one for you that you can pass on to your merc when you get a better helm.
Would open up another ring slot aswell with no mana leech loss, even a small gain.
NM cows also very good for charms something that is often forgotten.
You should also check your merc, I presume you have an Act 2 Might, but a Act 5 Frenzy could work fine as well, if your merc doesn’t survive fix better gear for it aswell, does wonders for an amazon.
And don’t forget your passive tree, the usual suspects but not only those for example slow missile is very good when facing Blood Raven.
thanks all, good advice, moore plz

You’ll need to reset your stats and dump everything into dex. Just enough strength for Windforce is fine, but don’t put one point into Life or Mana. Trust me, the damage you get from dex helps a lot, and you’ll barely get hit anyway. Once you’re hit, you pop a potion. Res is a non-issue. The key is to evade stuff, keeping at a distance and unleashing tons of damage, while your merc and/or (i don’t use a valk) valk keeps stuff at bay.

You want some mid-budget gear to survive in Hell. You’ll need to aim for that. Windforce is a fantastic choice, it’s my favorite bow, and you can stick with it forever. Ditch the manald, get a ravenfrost. Ditch smoke, get the runeword Lionheart in an archon plate, which i believe is the best mid-budget armour by far for a bowazon. Ditch the ammy, get a Cat’s Eye (my favorite bowazon ammy). Get a razortail. And get Laying of Hands.
The boots. War Traveler’s are the best in slot for a bowazon. Fantastic boots. Aim for those definitely, but if you can’t afford them at the moment (they’re at the high end of mid-budget, cheapest being 1 Ist rune), get Waterwalk or Aldur’s Advance. Fantastic low to mid-budget boots.

I use strafe as my main skill, multi is slow as FROZEN PISS with windforce without an Act 1 Merc wielding Faith. With Strafe, you can reach the 80% Increased Attack Speed easily, which is a good breakpoint. Then aim for the 120% breakpoint. With 120% attack speed, there is a huge difference in kill rate.

For your Merc, if you’re using an Act 2, get a Might one and invest in a Reaper’s Toll. Get him Duriel’s Shell as well, and upgrade it. That’ll improve both your survivability and your merc’s tenfold.

For end-game, you can stick with Windforce, and equip an Act 1 Merc with the Faith runeword. That’ll help you with Multi. via the Fanaticism aura. Or you can grab Faith yourself, and get an Act 2 Merc with the Pride Runeword. Aim for Fortitude, that’s the best damned armour runeword for the bowazon.
Also 15% IAS/40% ED jewels are your friend. Pop them everywhere you can. If you think they’re stupidly expensive (which i would agree with), then get something with lower % ED.
It doesn’t need to be f’ng perfect. A 3 socket circlet (either simple, but i’d save up and invest in a 20 or 30 Run/Walk, or 90+Life one) with 3 of those 15/40 nuggets will yeld you a 45% IAS/120% ED, which is your end-game helm slot. Done. But 45% IAS/90% ED (3 15/30 jewels) is fine, more than fine. Or whatever ED you can get, you can remove them later.
