NORMAL UNIQUE HELMS

NORMAL UNIQUE HELMS

Biggin’s Bonet Cap

  • Treasure Class: 3
  • Required Monsters level: 4
  • Usage: Low level characters, low lvl PvP, ACT I,II,V Mercenary
  • Value: Very low-Low
  • Note: Decent for low levels and for low level PvP or Mercenary early on because of quite rare +30% ED bonus. Biggin’s Bonet has also +15 Life and Mana and can be used very early from level 3 already.

Tarnhelm Skull Cap

  • Treasure Class: 6
  • Required Monsters level: 20
  • Usage: MF, GF, ACT III Mercenary
  • Value: Very low-Low, price is based on +%MF roll and Tarnhelm is usualy more expensive early on season.
  • Note: +25-50% MF, +75% GF and +1 all skills make this helm very usefull. It is one of the best helms for MF early on and is worth socketing to insert Perfect topaz.

Coif of Glory Helm

  • Treasure Class: 12
  • Required Monsters level: 19
  • Usage: Low level characters,ACT I, II, V Mercenary
  • Value: None
  • Note: Helm has usefull +15% lightning resist so it can be used for ACT II normal up to ACT IV, where you need Lightning resist. There is also hit blinds target on helm rendering enemies uncapable of fighting for a moment.

Duskdeep Full Helm

  • Treasure Class: 15
  • Required Monsters level: 23
  • Usage: Low level characters, Low lvl PvP, ACT I,II,V Mercenary
  • Value: None-Very Low
  • Note: Amazing helm for normal difficulty and often usable even higher if you dont have something better. Great for Melee/Range builds because of +8 max damage, but has also +15% all resist and damage reduced by 7 usefull for anyone. It can be sometimes found before Diablo and it is very good against him because of resistances and damage reduction. Its also quite usefull helm for mercenaries. I suggest to socket it with nice +max damage jewels and keep it for leveling new characters.

Howltusk Great Helm

  • Treasure Class: 24
  • Required Monsters level: 34
  • Usage: Range builds
  • Value: None
  • Note: Not very interesting and not really worth using unless you play bowazon and want to keep monsters away from you because it has knockback and 25% chance monsters will flee in fear. 35% damage goes to mana would be good, but since its helm from ranged characters, you wont used it that much. There is also small +2 magic damage reduction.

The Face of Horror Mask

  • Treasure Class: 21
  • Required Monsters level: 27
  • Usage: Low level characters, Bowazon, Thrower Barb, ACT I,II,V Mercenary
  • Value: None
  • Note: Interesting helm with quite high Strength bonus +20 and +10% all resist, but it also has 50% chance that monsters will flee after hit so it might cause problems if you want to keep fightning monsters at close range. There is also additional +50% damage bonus to undead. It can be usefull for Thrower Barb or Bowazon.

Undead Crown Crown

  • Treasure Class: 30
  • Required Monsters level: 39
  • Usage: Necromancer, ACT I,II,V Mercenary, Melee/Range
  • Value: None-Very low, mostly no value, rarely someone can ask for it early on season for their necromancer.
  • Note: Nice starting helm for Necro Summoner because of +3 to skeleton mastery. Other mods are quite useless for necromancer but its good helm for Merc as it has Half freeze duration, +50% damage vs undead and +5% life leech.

Wormskull Bone Helm

  • Treasure Class: 24
  • Required Monsters level: 28
  • Usage: Necromancer, Melee/Range, ACT I,II,V Mercenary
  • Value: None
  • Note: Another helm for necromancer because of +1 to Necromancer skills, Other than that it doesnt offer much with exception of 5% life leech usable on mercenary.

EXCEPTIONAL UNIQUE HELMS

EXCEPTIONAL UNIQUE HELMS

Peasant Crown War Hat

  • Treasure Class: 36
  • Required Monsters level: 36
  • Usage: Casters, ACT III mercenary
  • Value: None-Low, it has usualy value only early in season where price might go even up to Pul, but it lose value fast.
  • Note: Very useful helm mostly for caster builds. It has quite good stats, +20 to Vitality and Energy, +15% FRW, replenish life 6-12 and +1 all skills. Requirement level is also quite low 28 and it can be already found from Normal Baal.

Rockstopper Sallet

  • Treasure Class: 39
  • Required Monsters level: 39
  • Usage: Any character or mercenary
  • Value: Very Low-Low, Price is slightly higher on hardcore up to medium. Exact price is determined by mostly resistance roll. Ethereal version can be more valuable for mercenary.
  • Note: Another amazing helm you can use quite early only on lvl 31. it has +15 Vitality, +30% FHR, 10% damage reduction and with wide range of Fire, Cold and Lightning resistance. Rockstopper is valued more by hardcore player as it can greatly improve survivability for Nightmare or even Hell. It is also worth upgrading as it can have up to +220% ED.

Stealskull Casque

  • Treasure Class: 42
  • Required Monsters level: 43
  • Usage: Melee/Range, MF, ACT I,II,V mercenary
  • Value: Very low-Low, ethereal Low-Medium or slightly higher. Price depends mostly on MF roll.
  • Note: Good +% Enhanced defense, MF +30-50%, double 5% leech and on top of it +10% FHR and 10% IAS. Stealskull is underated helm by many, but it is honestly quite good. It can be good as starting helm for MF for melee/range builds or very good choice for some mercenaries. Ethereal version is much better for merc and is definitely worth upgrading.

Darksight Helm Basinet

  • Treasure Class: 45
  • Required Monsters level: 46
  • Usage: Melee/Range, ACT I,II,V mercenary
  • Value: None
  • Note: Quite strange and not often used helm. It has quite rare “cannot be frozen”, low 6% chance to cast dim vision which is basicly useless at such low chance, 5% mana leech, +20-40% fire resist and interesting lvl 5 CLoak of shadows with 30 charges. That can be used well against certain ranged monsters like Gloams. I sometimes use it on my ACT II merc for CBF bonus, but other than that you can get better helm.

Valkyrie Wing Winged Helm

  • Treasure Class: 51
  • Required Monsters level: 52
  • Usage: Amazon
  • Value: None-Very low
  • Note: Valkyrie Wing used to be quite good in old versions of game but its not that good anymore. Its certainly decent for amazon as it can have +1-2 amazon skills but other than that it has just low 2-4 mana after kill, and +20% FRW/FHR while it require strength 115 and level 44.

Blackthorn’s Face Death Mask

  • Treasure Class: 48
  • Required Monsters level: 49
  • Usage: Melee/Range, ACT I,II,V Mercenary, protection against lightning/gloams
  • Value: None-Very Low, its more valuble on hardcore where price is around Very low-Low.
  • Note: Amazing helm, but mostly situational as it has +20 Lightning absorb providing great protection against Gloams and lightning enchanted monsters. It has also rather weak +15% lighting resistance but rare +%20 slow and prevent monster heal, both usefull for Melee/Range builds.

Crown of Thieves Grand Crown

  • Treasure Class: 57
  • Required Monsters level: 57
  • Usage: Melee/Range, ACT I,II,V Mercenary, GF
  • Value: Very Low-Low, ethereal version with decent +ED% and Life leech rolls can be Medium-High, perfect roll even Very High.
  • Note: Very good and often used helm for mercenaries because of high life leech 9-12%. It has also several other nice bonuses +35 Mana, +50 Life, +25 Dexterity, 33% fire resist and also 80-100% GF. Crown of thieves is even better when it is ethereal as its good for mercenaries where it doesnt lose durability and provide very high defense. Ethereal is worth upgrading to elite version to get even higher defense.

Vampire Gaze Grim Helm

  • Treasure Class: 51
  • Required Monsters level: 49
  • Usage: Melee/Range, ACT I,II,V Mercenary, protection against physical and magic damage
  • Value: Low-Medium, price depends on leech and reduction rolls, ethereal version has High-Very High price based on rolls.
  • Note: Another very often used exceptional helm, it has Mana/Life leech 6-8%, high magic damage reduction 10-15 and very rare % damage reduction 15-20%. There is also small cold damage and low +100%ED bonus. Its used for melee builds or mercenaries so Ethereal version is a lot more expensive.

ELITE UNIQUE HELMS

ELITE UNIQUE HELMS

Harlequin Crest Shako

  • Treasure Class: 60
  • Required Monsters level: 69
  • Usage: Casters, MF, ACT III Mercenary
  • Value: Medium-Very high, first Shakos when season starts can be easily sold for Ohm, but price will drop after like 2-3 days to Vex and then eventualy even lower and stays around Um-Ist most of the season.
  • Note: One of the most used items in game, everyone wants it when ladder starts as its best helm for MF runs on most characters. It has high 50% MF bonus, +2 skills, rare 10% damage reduction, +2 all attributes and quite high Life and Mana bonus based on character level.

Steel Shade Armet

  • Treasure Class: 69
  • Required Monsters level: 70
  • Usage: Protection against fire, ACT I,II, V Mercenary (for travincal runs)
  • Value: None, maybe few Pgems if you will be lucky.
  • Note: Quite bad for a elite helm. Only interesting thing on Steel Shade is +5-11 fire absorb but thats not even that high. Then there is 4-8% mana leech and +10-18 replenish life. Thats quite high but it wont save this helm from being bad. Even +%ED on it suck as its only 100-130%.

Veil of Steel Spired Helm

  • Treasure Class: 81
  • Required Monsters level: 77
  • Usage: ACT II, V mercenary (eth version)
  • Value: None
  • Note: Definitely not a bad helm stat vise as it has +50% all resist, +15 vitality/strength and +140 defense, but very high strength requirement 192 makes this helm almost unusable for majority of characters and high str build who can use it have better options. Ethereal version could be usable on mercenaries for a high defense and all resists.

Nightwing’s Veil Spired Helm

  • Treasure Class: 81
  • Required Monsters level: 75
  • Usage: Cold damage builds, ACT III cold mercenary
  • Value: Low-High, high price is only for high +% Cold damage rolls together with good dexterity roll.
  • Note: Second unique version of Spired helm and it is kind of funny that this one require slightly lower monster level to drop while its actualy usable compared to Veil of Steel. Nightwing’s Veil has +2 skills, Cold absorb 5-9, 10-20 Dexterity, Half freeze duration and also very rare +8-15% cold damage. Lowered requirements by 50% makes it usable for variety of characters with required Strength 96, but helm is obviously best used for builds doing cold damage.

Andariel’s Visage Demonhead

  • Treasure Class: 75
  • Required Monsters level: 85
  • Usage: Melee, ACT II,V Mercenary
  • Value: Medium-High, Ethereal version has very high price. Exact price depends on Life leech/Str/+%ED roll.
  • Note: One of the best helms for mercenaries from ACT II. Andariel Visage has plenty of bonuses. Most important are 8-10% life leech, +2 all skills, +20 IAS and 25-30 strength. It also provide high 70% resistance against poison and +10% max poison resist. Ethereal version is far more valuable and is one of the best helms you can get on mercenary. Andariel’s Visage also decrease fire resistance by -30% so keep that in mind.

Crown of Ages Corona

  • Treasure Class: 87
  • Required Monsters level: 86
  • Usage: Melee paladin, ACT II, V Mercenary
  • Value: Medium-High for 1 socket rolls, Very high for 2 socket rolls, high % damage reduction is highly valued and then as last resistances.
  • Note: Very rare helm with pretty impressive stats but can also roll not so well and usage is kind of limited. It has nickname CoA and it cannot be ethereal as it is always indestructible, other bonuses are +30% FHR, +20-30 all resist, +1 all skills, +10-15% damage reduction and additional defense 100-150 but enhanced defense is quite low only +50%. It can also have 1-2 sockets which open many possibilities like adding two 40%ED 15%IAS jewels for example. Required strength is 174 so its really not helm for caster builds. It is usualy used on Paladins fighting at close range, for example Zealer but I could imagine using it on mercenary also.

Giant Skull Bone Visage

  • Treasure Class: 84
  • Required Monsters level: 73
  • Usage: Range builds, ACT I, II, V mercenary
  • Value: Low-Medium, price depends on socket roll and mostly strength.
  • Note: Also quite rare uniqe helm, not that good in comparison to rarity of it. There is no +%ED on it, but Giant skull adds flat +250-320 defense. Other bonuses are knockback, 10% crushing blow, +25-35 strength and 1-2 sockets. Usageis limited because its not helm for casters and also not very usable by melee builds because of knocback on it. It can be used on Bowazon if you insert some interesting jewels. and str requirement is not that bad, only 106.

UNIQUE CIRCLETS

UNIQUE CIRCLETS

Kira’s Guardian Tiara

  • Treasure Class: 72
  • Required Monsters level: 85
  • Usage: Casters, Melee, ACT II,V Merc
  • Value: Low-Medium
  • Note: Great helm with a lot of resistances +50-70%, +20% FHR, added defense 50-120 and Cannot be frozen. It is usualy used for ACT 2 mercenary for the CBF and a lot of resistances. It can be used by anyone as it has only level requirement 77, no strength needed.

Griffon’s Eye Diadem

  • Treasure Class: 87
  • Required Monsters level: 84
  • Usage: Lightning builds, Javazon, Lightning sorceress, FoH paladin, Lightning ACT III merc
  • Value: Very high+, how many High runes you will get depends on how good roll on -% enemy lightning res and +% Lightning dmg you have.
  • Note: Very hard to find item, quite valuable and usefull item for two frequently used builds: Javazon and Lighting sorc. Griffon adds 100-200 defense, +1 all skills, +25% FCR, -15-20% to enemy lightning resistance and +10-15% lightning skill damage.

UNIQUE CLASS-SPECIFIC HELMS

UNIQUE CLASS-SPECIFIC HELMS

Slayer Guard Arreat’s Face

  • Treasure Class: 54
  • Required Monsters level: 50
  • Usage: Barbarian, ACT V merc
  • Value: Low-High, price depends on +ED% and Life leech bonus
  • Note: Frequently used Barbarian class helmet. It provides various usefull bonuses and it is considered as best unique barbarian helm. It can be also used by ACT V mercenary so Ethereal version can have value for some players but ACT II mercenary still dominates so finding buyer could be more problematic.

Wolfhowl Fury Visor

  • Treasure Class: 66
  • Required Monsters level: 85
  • Usage: Barbarian, ACT V merc
  • Value: Very low-Medium, price depends on skill rolls mostly
  • Note: Barbarian helm with quite unique properties for special barbarian build tranforming into Werewolf. Wolfhowl adds +2-3 warcries, 3-6 Feral Rage/Lycantrophy/Werewolf and +8-15 Strength/dexterity/Vitality so there is range of multiple bonuses. There is also Summon Dire Wolf level 15 in form of charges. Generaly speaking it is interesting helm providing unique opportunity for barbarian but it is not really that highly used.

Demonhorn’s Edge Destroyer Helm

  • Treasure Class: 75
  • Required Monsters level: 69
  • Usage: Barbarian, ACT V merc
  • Value: None-Very Low
  • Note: Barbarian class helm, quite a bad one, it has 1-3 Wacries/Masteries/Combat skills, 3-6 life leech, +10% IAS and useless 55-77 dmg back to attacker. On top of that it require 151 strength and level 61. Honestly terrible in comparison to arreat’s face.

Halaberd’s Reign Conquerer Helm

  • Treasure Class: 81
  • Required Monsters level: 85
  • Usage: Barbarian, ACT V merc
  • Value: None/Very Low
  • Note: Practicaly same case as Halaberd’s Reign, +20% FHR, replenish life 15-23, +2 to barbarian skills , 1-2 to Battle Command and Battle orders and +1 masteries. It can have +2 higher level of battle orders than Arreat’s Face but other than that it sucks in comparison and it also require 174 strength and level 77.

Jalal’s Mane Totemic Mask

  • Treasure Class: 57
  • Required Monsters level: 50
  • Usage: Druid
  • Value: Very Low - Low, +%ED can affect price but not so much as druid is not that often played character and helm is mostly for melee builds which are also less played on top of that.
  • Note: Druid class helm providing various good bonuses, design of it is more usefull for shapeshifting builds, but it is still quite good no matter what build you play. Caster builds have some better options tho.

Cerebus’ Bite Blood Spirit

  • Treasure Class: 63
  • Required Monsters level: 71
  • Usage: Shapeshift Druid
  • Value: None-Low
  • Note: Cerebus Bite has quite high +60-120% attack ratting bonus, 7-10% life leech, 1-2 Feral rage, 2-4 Shapeshifting skills and 33% open wounds. Stats arent bad for melee builds at all, but Cerebusit has hard time competing against Jalals Mane which offers bigger variety of bonuses.

Ravenlore Sky Spirit

  • Treasure Class: 84
  • Required Monsters level: 82
  • Usage: Druid (elemental builds)
  • Value: Low-High, price depends on -%enemy fire resist and +all resist
  • Note: Ravenlore is interesting helm with +7 to Ravens but it is not exactly helm focused on summon tree sadly. Its mostly good for elemental build, especially focusd on fire dmg as it has -10-20 to enemy fire resist and +3 elemental skills. It also increase energy by 20-30 points and all resistances by +15-25%.

Spirit Keeper Earth Spirit

  • Treasure Class: 78
  • Required Monsters level: 75
  • Usage: Druid, protection against elemental attacks
  • Value: Very Low-Low
  • Note: Druid class helm and I believe only item in game with double absorb. It has +9-14 lightning absorb and 15-25% cold Absorb, +10 maximum poison resist, +30-40 fire resist, +20% FHR and 1-2 druid skills. I cant understand why would anyone use it over Jalal’s Mane which has better bonuses and only missing absorbs. Lighting absorb on Spirit keeper can be usefull against souls if druid is teleporting baalruns for example. Other than that there are much better choices.

SET HELMS

SET HELMS

Infernal Cranium Cap

  • Treasure Class: 3
  • Required Monsters level: 7
  • Usage: Necromancer, low level characters
  • Value: None
  • Note: Decent for a start as it has usefull +10% all resist and 20% damage goes to mana. Can be used very early and also has green bonus adding +2 defense per level.

Sander’s Paragon Cap

  • Treasure Class: 3
  • Required Monsters level: 20
  • Usage: MF, low level characters
  • Value: None
  • Note: Nice +35% magic find bonus but it doesnt really has anything else that usefull, no grees bonusse and gold bonuses just add small defense and attack ratting.

Arcanna’s Head Skull Cap

  • Treasure Class: 6
  • Required Monsters level: 20
  • Usage: Sorceress, low level characters
  • Value: None
  • Note: Not that good without other parts of set, only usefull thing on it is +4 replenish life. If you have second piece of set, it will gain green bons +3 defense per level and with third part +15% lightning resist. Gold bonus from two parts will add 50 mana and +12 mana regeneration. Whole set is designed for sorceress, but is honestly not worth completing.

Berserker’s Headgear Helm

  • Treasure Class: 12
  • Required Monsters level: 5
  • Usage: Low level characters, melee, Barbarian
  • Value: None
  • Note: Decent helm with useful +25% fire resist for normal difficulty, second set item will provide green bonus +8 attack ratting per level and gold bonus for two items is +50 life. Set is designed for barbarian and you can actualy have two axes from same set, but their dmg is quite low.

Isenhart’s Horns Full Helm

  • Treasure Class: 15
  • Required Monsters level: 11
  • Usage: Low level characters, Melee, ACT III merc
  • Value: None
  • Note: Part of set designed for melee builds. Parts of set drops quite often (mostly armor and Helm) and helm is definitely not bad for normal as it has +2 damage reduction, +6 dexterity and +8 all resist as green bonus with second item from set. Gold bonus for second item is also +10 strength. Whole set is actualy not that bad but dont expect high dmg from weapon. ACT III mercenary can complete whole set, but since its set for fighting, he wont get much from it.

Sigon’s Visor Great Helm

  • Treasure Class: 24
  • Required Monsters level: 9
  • Usage: Low level characters, melee
  • Value: None alone, Full can can be sometimes sold for even Pul or Um.
  • Note: Part of Sigon set, not that great on its own as it adds only +30 mana and some defense but there is green bonus with second set item +8 AR per level and gold bonus +10% life leech. It can be used quite early from level 6 but high strength requirement 63 makes it impossible unless you have strength charms prepared.

Cathan’s Visage Mask

  • Treasure Class: 21
  • Required Monsters level: 15
  • Usage: Low level characters
  • Value: None
  • Note: Part of Cathan Set, decent +20 mana and +25% cold resist with green bonus +2 defense per level and gold bonus 15-20 fire damage together with +16% mana regeneration. Its definitely worth completing itw with few more parts but full set is weird hybrid not really focused for any build or character.

Iratha’s Coil Crown

  • Treasure Class: 30
  • Required Monsters level: 21
  • Usage: Low level characters, melee/range, ACT I,II,V mercenary
  • Value: None
  • Note: Iratha Crown is quite good for normal as it has two most desirable resistances fire and lightning both +30%. Green bonus +2 defense per level and gold bonus +50 defense. If you have 3 items gold bonus also adds +20% FRW and newly in 2.4 +24% chance to pierce so set is a lot more interesting for range builds like bowazon or Barbarian thrower. Whole set is quite good and definitely worth completing to make leveling new characters easier.

Milabrega’s Diadem

  • Treasure Class: 30
  • Required Monsters level: 23
  • Usage: Paladin
  • Value: None
  • Note: Milabrega set is designed for Paladin, but armor doesnt drop that often so its harder to complete it. On top of it its not that good anyway. Milabrega helm has weak +15 Life and mana bonus but decent +40% cold resist as green bonus with second item from set. Partial Gold bonus adds some attack ratting and newly in 2.4 patch cannot be forzen for 3 parts and +2 lightning dmg for every level. Whole set has shield with terrible block chance and weak weapon. I dont think its worth completing, just from the fact that armor require 100 strength for a set usable only on normal difficulty.

Tancred’s Skull Bone Helm

  • Treasure Class: 24
  • Required Monsters level: 27
  • Usage: Low level characters, Melee
  • Value: None
  • Note: Tancred’s bone Helm has quite weak bonuses: +10% enhanced damage and +40 attack ratting. There is also green bonus +10% to all resist with second part of set and +15 lightning damage as gold bonus with two parts. Whole set has 5 peices and its not that easy to complete it. And not worth completing as its set for melee builds but struggle with doing proper damage. Helm can be well combined with amulet to get +78% MF from it as green bonus.

Naj’s Circlet Circlet

  • Treasure Class: 24
  • Required Monsters level: 43
  • Usage: MF, ACT I,II,III,V Merc, casters (fire builds preferably), Energy shield sorceress (full set)
  • Value: None-Very low
  • Note: Najs Circlet is quite bad and only interesting thing on it is +15 strength, but whole set was improved in 2.4. If you use armor and circlet together you will get gold bonuses +175 defense and newly from 2.4 +1,5% MF per character level which is quite a lot. Staff is usualy used a lot as single item, but its possible to complete set and full set bonuses are really nice. Downside is that you cant use shield with it.

Immortal King’s Will Avenger Guard

  • Treasure Class: 24
  • Required Monsters level: 37
  • Usage: Barbarian, MF, GF, ACT V merc
  • Value: None to Very low, more desirable at ladder start, it eventualy cost nothing as its not hard to find, price depends on MF roll.
  • Note: Part of Barbarian class set. Whole set is quite good and often used by Barbarians with whirlwind before having more elite equip. Helm is very good for MF capabilities as it has 24-40% MF and +2 sockets where you can place another Topazes. Or it can be used for Gold finding if you insert Lems instead +helm itself has +37% GF. Helm also adds +125 defense and +2 warcries skills. There is no green bonus but gold bonus adds increased attack ratting for every other item from same set

Cow King’s Horns War Hat

  • Treasure Class: 34
  • Required Monsters level: 20
  • Usage: Low level characters
  • Value: None-Very Low
  • Note: Helm doesnt provide that much, +35% damage goes to mana, +75 defense, Half freeze duration and it reflects 10 damage. There is no green bonus and gold bonus adds only +25% poison resist for 2 items. Full set has good stats, but its hard to get all pieces because they drop only in Secret Cow Level.

Sazabi’s Mental Sheath Basinet

  • Treasure Class: 45
  • Required Monsters level: 34
  • Usage: Everyone
  • Value: None-Low, price on hardcore might be slightly higher.
  • Note: Decent helm with +15-20% fire and lightning resist, +100 defense and +1 to all skills. There are no green bonuses for more peices of set, but gold bonus for two items is +40% FRW and newly in 2.4 also +75% poison length reduced. Full set is designed for melee builds, but can be also used for ACT and ACT V mercs who can fully complete it. Full set also gained new +16% damage reduction and +1 all skills in 2.4 patch.

Guillaume’s Face Winged Helm

  • Treasure Class: 51
  • Required Monsters level: 41
  • Usage: Melee/Range, Smitter, ACT I,II,V Merc
  • Value: Very Low-Medium, price depends on when you trade it as it is highly demanded item early in season
  • Note: Frequently used helm for Uber tristram smitters. It is one of the best melee or even range helms because of very high +35% crushing blow and also +30% FHR, +15% deadly strike and +15 strength.

Tal Rasha’s Horadric Crest Death Mask

  • Treasure Class: 48
  • Required Monsters level: 26
  • Usage: Sorecress, Melee/Range, ACT I, II, V Mercenary
  • Value: None-Low, people mostly want it early in season as its quite good for mercenaries, but later in season nobody really ask for it anymore as its not hard to find.
  • Note: Part of sorceress class set. It is definitely worth completing whole set as its quite good for sorc, but helm itself is also decent for melee/range builds or merc because of +10% Mana/Life leech. There is also +15% all resist, +30 mana and +60 Life. Helm doesnt have any green set bonusses for other parts and gold bonus for two items is +10replenish life. There is +65% MF for third part, but for that bonus is better to just use Armor+Amulet+Belt and use different helm and weapon than Tal Rasha’s Set.

Aldur’s Stony Gaze Hunter’s Guise

  • Treasure Class: 48
  • Required Monsters level: 29
  • Usage: Druid (melee builds mostly)
  • Value: None-Low
  • Note: Part of Druid class set. Whole set is designed for melee druid but lacks enough power to be good for various reasons. Helm provides decent bonuses: 40-50% Cold resist, 25% FHR, +17% mana regeneration and 2 sockets. It can be also used quite early at level 36. Every additional set piece adds greed bonus +15 energy and gold bonus for two items is 150% attack ratting and for 3 is +50% MF.

Hwanin’s Splendor Grand Crown

  • Treasure Class: 57
  • Required Monsters level: 28
  • Usage: No prefered usage
  • Value: None
  • Note: Hwanin’s Splendor has decent +10 magic damage reduction, +20 replenish life and +37% cold resist. But there is no green bonus and gold bonus for second item is just +100% defense. Whole set is most likely designed for melee Barbarian or Druid but I never saw anyone completing it.

Natalya’s Totem Grim Helm

  • Treasure Class: 51
  • Required Monsters level: 22
  • Usage: Assassin(Martial arts), usable for any char build or merc
  • Value: None-Low
  • Note: Great helm from Natayla’s Odium assassin class set. It has great stats +20-30 Dexterity, +10-20 strength, +10-20% all resist, small bonus to magic reduction +3 and also +135-175 defense. There is also golden bonus +15 magic damage reduction for second set item and +300 defense for third one. No gree bonus on the helm. Required strength is only 58 so it can be used by pretty much anyone and is very good especialy on hardcore providing good amount of attributes, resistance and magic dmg reduction if it is for example used with boots. Whole set is definitely worth using but it is designed for melee assasin builds.

Ondal’s Almighty Spired Helm

  • Treasure Class: 81
  • Required Monsters level: 55
  • Usage: Melee Paladin(whole set) I guess?
  • Value: None
  • Note: I have never used this helm in 20+ years of Diablo 2 on any character. Why? Because this helm offer 10% chance to cast weaken lvl 3 on striking, +24% FHR, +10 strength, +15 dexterity ans +50 defense. Thats nothing amazing for very high required level 69. Strength requirement is lowered by 40% but it still 116 strength. There is no green bonus for more pieces and golden bonus for two is epicly bad Heal stamina plus 50% bonus. Whole set doesnt offer anything interesting and is designed for paladin i guess.

Griswold’s Valor Corona

  • Treasure Class: 87
  • Required Monsters level: 44
  • Usage: Melee Paladin, MF, ACT I, II, III,V Mercenary
  • Value: Very Low-Medium, MF roll can affect price
  • Note: Part of Paladin Class set which is quite hard to complete as Helm with weapon and shield are not easy to find. Griswold’s Corona can be quite good for magic find if you complete whole set as it has 20-30% MF and also two sockets where you can place perfect topazes. Corona also adds very small +5% all resist bonus, and 0,25 Cold absorb per character level. It require 105 strength because of -40% requirements. Defense is quite weak because of only +50-75% ED. Green bonus for another set piece is +2 paladin offensive auras. Golden bonus for two pieces is +20 strength and for three +30 dexterity. Whole set is quite decent but it highly depends on how you use sockets of set pieces.

Trang-Oul’s Guise Bone Visage

  • Treasure Class: 84
  • Required Monsters level: 32
  • Usage: Necromancer, Energy shield sorc (energy build), ACT III Fire Mercenary
  • Value: Very low-Low
  • Note: Part of Necromancer class set. Helm has very high +150 mana, Replenish life +5 and 25%FHR. Not exactly bad, but not amazing either with exception of Mana boost. Helm sadly doesnt have any Green bonus but second piece of set will add golden bonus +18 fire ball. Thats quite unique amongst the items and can be used in some fun builds. Third piece also adds +13 to Fire wall. Helm together with armor will also boost ACT III fire mercenary because of that +Fire ball bonus.

M’avina’s True Sight Diadem

  • Treasure Class: 87
  • Required Monsters level: 21
  • Usage: Amazon, ACT I, II, V Mercenary
  • Value: Medium
  • Note: Part of Amazon class set and also most rare part of it together with Bow. Whole set is designed for Bowazon build with preference to Cold part of bow skill tree. Mavina Diadem has interesting +30% IAS, but other than that only +25 mana, +150 defense and +10 replenish life. It has 3 green bonuses for every other set piece starting at +1 all skills for 2 items, +50% attack ratting for 3 and +25% resist for 4. There is also golden bonus +20 strength for two items and +30 Dexterity for 3. Whole set is not exactly bad, but not great either as it has quite limited usage. Mavina Diadem can be useful to reach certain breakpoints for attack speed on mercenaries, but doesnt provide any life leech.

SOCKET HELMS

SOCKET HELMS

Helms can have 1-3 sockets and best non class specific one is Mask with very low strength requirements, other options are Great Helm and Crown but they need more strength. You can usualy find 3 socket helms already at ACT V normal. Druid Pelts and Barbarian Helms can be found also with 3 sockets and they can have then sooner than normal helms. It can be very usefull to use them as socket base or simply use them with gems. 3 Socket helms are mostly used for lowe budget MF builds as you will get +72% MF with 3 perfect topazes. Price of 3 socket helms is very low, but good base for druid or barbarian can have slightly more value. Another use for 3 socketed helms is low level pvp where you can insert + Max damage jewels in it.

MAGIC HELMS

MAGIC HELMS

Barbarian helms and Druid Pelts
Both can be used for prebuffing Battle orders or Oak sage for example and some could be used for low level pvp if they are also socketed by rubies or some nice jewels. But Rare helms are usualy more valuable with good mods.

Circlets, Coronets, Tiaras, Diadems
There is various types of magic propertiesd combine together making these items valuable. Some can be also very expensive for people who are involved in PvP. Generaly speaking are most valuable Jewelers/Artisans preffixes for sockets together with something else like high amount of +life, %FRW, or high damage reduction (of everlasting affix). I cant really talk about all possible combinations as there is many but I will post few other examples of desirable properties:

+2 amazon skills, +30%FRW, 2 sockets (made with socket quest)
+2/3 sockets, +Life/FCR
+2/3 Cold/Fire/Lightning or other skills, +20%FCR, 2 sockets (made with socket quest)
+High Mana, +22-25 damage reduction, 2 sockets (made with socket quest)

Many of these types of helms are usable for low-high level pvp and are often socketed with facets, rubies and jewels with +%IAS, +ED% or +Max/Min damage. If you look for Circlets or Coronets for low level pvp, its best to gamble them at level 45. I cant really speak for prices for individual helms bus some can be quite expensive and cost even multiple High runes. These items are not that often traded so its usualy depends on what is buyer willing to pay.

RARE HELMS

RARE HELMS

Barbarian helms
They can be used for prebuff with good roll on +skills but generaly speaking rare barbarian helms will have very hard time competing with rare circlets or Arreats Face or other unique or set helms.

Druid Pelts
Rare druid pelts can be possible bis piece for elemental builds. Valuable ones are with +2 druid skills, 3 certain skills like armageddon/Tornado/Hurricane/Fissure/Volcano, with tornado usualy being prefered as most valuable. Other prefered mods on it are +%FHR, +2 sockets, +Life, +Resits (lightning or Fire preferably).

Circlets
Circlet, Coronet,Tiara, Diadem can have many various modifications usable for various builds. Circlets and Coronets can be used for low level pvp if they are rolled well and if you look for suggested level for gamble, it is 45. If you look for gambling Diadems with good chance for +2 char skills, prefered level is 92. Circlets can have various mods valuable differently for certain builds. Desirable mods generaly speaking are +char skills, +tree skills, double or single high mana/life leech, +all resist, +high Lighting/fire resist, +%FCR, +%FRW, +%FHR, high rolls on Mana/life, 20+% Magic find, High rolls on Strength or Dexterity, +2 sockets, +high attack ratting, + Enhanced damage. There is honestly a lot of it its often combation or right mods on it together making the amazing circlets. Price of best ones can easily be in multiple high runes.

CRAFTED HELMS

CRAFTED HELMS

People usualy do not craft helms as they cant beat uniques or rare circlets. Hit power Craft doesnt offer anything usefull, Caster craft have some bonuses to help with mana, but they are low and when you need it you usualy dont have perfect sapphire that early. Safety craft doesnt look that bad on paper, but has same issue as caster craft. Bonuses on it are too weak compared to for example Lore runeword. Blood craft is only usefull helm craft because it provides more rare +5-10% deadly strike. It has also low 1-3 life leech and +20 Life. It can be used for early NM characters but if you will be lucky with rolls also for low level pvp if you get one with sockets.

RUNEWORD HELMS

RUNEWORD HELMS

Lore

  • Required level: 27
  • Required item base: Any 2 socket helm, Barbarian helms and Druid Pelts are usable too
  • Usage: Mid level characters, ACT III Mercenary
  • Value: Price of used runes
  • Note: Great low budget runeword for Nightmare and even Hell until you get something better. Its mostly valued for +1 all skills, damage reduction 7 and lightning resist 30%. It is quite good for any caster or characters witch a lot of different skills. It can be also made in Druid pelts or Barbarian helms so it can be quite good helm in proper base with skills your character is using.

Nadir

  • Required level: 13
  • Required item base: Any 2 socket helm
  • Usage: Pretty much zero
  • Value: None
  • Note: Honestly bad RW. It has one interesting thing and that is lvl 13 Cloak of Shadows as charges (9) which can be helpfull against some ranged enemies but you dont need it on normal really. And its terrible helm for NM or Hell. Thee is also +5 Str bonus and +2 mana per kill from Tir and I would really like to say its better than nothing, but not really as Nadir has also negative -33% gold find, which is quite bad early when you need gold.

Radiance

  • Required level: 27
  • Required item base: any 3 socket helm
  • Usage: Mid level characters, casters mostly
  • Value: Price of used runes
  • Note: Decent low budget helm RW but it kind of compete with Lore and it also require Sol as Lore. You need 3 socket helm for that which is harder to get on normal, but not impossible. If you are druid or Barbarian they drop normaly on normal early on and it might be interesting choice for the Radiance. Radiance has some decent bonuses, most noticable ones are +10 vitality/energy, 7 DR, 3 MDR and 33 mana.

Delirium

  • Required level: 51
  • Required item base: Any 3 socket helm
  • Usage: ACT III Mercenary, Casters, Range
  • Value: Price of used runes and base, its rarely traded.
  • Note: Can be viable in some Druid pelts or Barbarin helms but it has several different curses you dont really want to overwrite others. It has also 1% chance to transform into stygian doll so its more runeword for fun than being a lot usefull. Best thing on it is +2 all skills so I dont think its worth making for price of a Ist.

Dream

  • Required level: 65
  • Required item base: Any 3 socket helm, preferably with low strength requirement
  • Usage: Auradin (Paladin), sorceress
  • Value: Very High, price depends on roll, for shield it depends a lot on base of item as some paladin shield are very expensive already as socketed base.
  • Note: Expensive runeword with Jah Inside. It has multiple different bonuses with rather lower range, but its used for Holy Shock shock aura when equipped at level 15. Runeword can be made in Helm and Shield so it can be combined together to gain level 30 Holy shock. That is very usefull for Paladin who can add points into Resist lightning and Salvation which will increase damage of aura as synergy or for sorc who has Lightning mastery increasing elemental damage directly.

Wisdom

  • Required level: 45
  • Required item base: Any 3 socket helm
  • Usage: Amazon(range builds), ACT I Mercenary, Barbarian Thrower
  • Value: Low-Medium, price depends on roll, base doesnt have much impact
  • Note: New runeword introduced in patch 2.4 for range characters. Most important stats on it are +33% pierce and cannot be frozen, 4-8% mana leech and +15-25% attack ratting bonus. Its not high end item but quite good runeword for runes it require and it can be made in late NM or early Hell.

Flickering Flame

  • Required level: 55
  • Required item base: Any 3 socket helm, preferably with low strength requirements.
  • Usage: Sorceress, Holy fire paladin, Fire elemental druid, ACT III fire Mercenary, protection against fire
  • Value: Medium-Very High, price depends mostly on roll of Resist fire aura, -% enemey resist. Good Pelt base with fire skills can raise price considerably.
  • Note: New runeword introduced in patch 2.4, mostly designed for builds with fire skills. Flickering Flame has 4-8 Resist fire aura when equipped, +3 fire skills, -10-15% to enemy fire resistance, +5% maximum fire resist, +50-75 Mana and some other minor bonuses. Fire element druid can honestly get most out of this Runeword as it can be made in Druid pelt base with some druid skills. Flickering flame is also great runeword for protection against fire.

Any feedback to make this better is welcomed.

what excactly happend if that…happend?^^ is it permanent ? means im DEAD if that proc triggers?

Well it works as any other transform really. After certain time you transform back to your normal form

That’s actually pretty cool. Either I didn’t know about that or I completely forgot about it.

I believe CharlesJT had the idea that Blood Raven’s Charge should have a % chance to reanimate The Hungry Dead when killing an enemy.

In my head that made perfect sense and still fit within the theme of this game. Items like Delirium (and a few others) show that it wouldn’t be crazy to do this.

Great guide Zax, I read through a few categories and will return to it when I need it.

Hey am glad you like it.

Reanimate target is something else than delirium tho. For example tomb reaver has chance to reanimate target.

It basicly use corpse to spawn certain monster.

I’m such a casual I didn’t even know this. I just checked it out: 10% Reanimate as: Skeleton.

That’s very very epic. I wish this was emphasized more by the original devs.
