Please do everyone a favor and just remove Maggot Lair from the game entirely. Just delete it. As soon as we enter Act2 put the Staff in our inventory.

I guess you are playing a summoning build?
Maggot Lair can be a PITA, but fortunately you only need to go through it once per difficulty.
Maggot Lair 1 and 2, follow the right wall from the entrances, you may encounter a room or two with enemies instead of the next level. Maggot Lair 3 push towards the upper right.
If using a summoner, only use a few of your most powerful summons along with your merc and amp damage/corpse explosion (if you have it) to slowly work your way through.

Get a teleport amulate or staff if you are playing a summoner and use bonespear and corpse explosion.
I don’t mind Maggot Lair . . . narrow tight alleys the merc gets lost in or does nothing in the back.
I prefer that much more than the dark eclipse prior to getting the snake headpiece. + Light does nothing for visibility in normal dungeons but it somehow does seem to make the dark eclipse appear more black
It’s fantastic for some classes like strafe Amazon and bone Necro… sometimes I wouldn’t mind it being a terror zone lol. Can’t be worse than den of evil
PD2 fixed this problem.
It is a horribly designed zone if you’re playing a minion build, a few mods completely fix it by just making the corridors larger rather than removing it altogether.
And these morons from Bli$$ instead of fixing it they made mosaik or hustle

First primo they said D2R is live service game
Second primo they had almost two years to fix core D2 problems, when they releasing the game and then content patches lol
The team that made the remaster (Vicarious Visions) is long gone. The team maintaining the game now is clearly very small and the game has been pretty much in maintenance mode since 2022, so again, very unlikely it’s still the same people running it. If you consider the recent wasd fiasco it’s pretty obvious they don’t even have much in terms of testing and validation for this product. Blizzard already abandoned this one for all intents and purposes.
Honestly, I’d rather have them add a way to order your minions around, rather than increase corridor size. That way you can pull away your minions to lure opponents in a larger section, or pack ranged units right behind your melee ones, rather than at max range.
Wait, you think people are maintaining this game? Blizzards undevelopers aren’t trying to keep this game going, they want everyone to play their brand new games that they slapped the Diablo logo on so that people would actually play them. They clearly couldn’t get a grasp on Diablo II, so they made an easy budget jack of all trades(mosaic sin) and then continued on their quest to destroy the Diablo Franchise with their garbage mobile phone versions of the game. On top of that, they even made an actual mobile phone version of the game, which I imagine is trash as well. But seriously, I have played RPGs on my phone that play the exact same as D3 and D4 way before D3 even came out, and they let you have more skills “hotkeyed” than both D3 and D4. The undevelopers are a bunch of crybabies that don’t like boobs, and how can anyone trust someone that doesn’t like boobs. #bringbackzoncleavage

I don’t agree at all, it’s a nice challenge. Oddly enough, I JUST completed this on a summoner, and it was incredibly easy. I didn’t have any issues at all, so what’s the problem? I only needed 1 or 2 skellies to kill anyways, I didn’t even use CE.
