Trace complete.

That’s an issue with your router and/or you have ICMP blocked.

hello it worked just find yasterday but today its crappy

If it worked fine prior to today, then there’s a very good chance that there is some sort of routing issue between your ISP and Blizzards ISP.

As far as “Your connection has been interrupted.” disconnects and lag, that is a dead giveaway that there is something wrong with the connection between your computer and the Battle.net servers. ~99% of the time, Blizzard is not to blame for lag and/or loss… And when they are, they will typically announce there are problems via the launcher, and via social media (Reddit, Twitter). The vast majority of the time, it’s usually a connection hop in between, an issue with the users internet service provider, or a problem on the users end that is to blame.

Diablo 2 (both the original game and Diablo II:Resurrected) has always been extremely sensitive to packet loss and excessive ping fluctuations. Even 1% packet loss will eventually result in the connection dropping. The higher the loss percentage and or the greater the ping fluctuations, the more frequent the dropouts happen.

It’s very likely a problematic internet hop between your service provider and Blizzards server. You could try switching regions in the Battle.net app just to see if it helps with the dropping connection issue. This isn’t a permanent solution, as the ping times will likely not be favorable…

If you want to investigate further, download winMTR:

Plug your regions IP into WinMTR and click Start. Let it run for a good 20 minutes.

Diablo II: Resurrected server IPs:

Region IP Address 2nd IP Address
North America 137.221.106.88 137.221.106.188
Europe 37.244.28.80 37.244.28.180
Asia 117.52.35.79 117.52.35.179

It will give a readout of all of the connection hops, as well as ping and packet loss information for each. The first hop being your router, the last hop being the start of Blizzards network. In between are the various connection hops the data travels between the two points.

There is an export log option in WinMTR, so you could forward the logs to your ISP’s support email, and they may be able to relay them to whatever hop may be having trouble so they can fix it.

Your router/firewall is probably is blocking all ICMP traffic.

You’ll have to configure your router/firewall to allow ICMP traffic, but ignore ICMP (ping) requests. It’s usually under the “security” and/or “firewall” section of the router settings.

Also, some ISPs (usually cellular ones) block all ICMP traffic by default to minimize excessive network congestion. Which if you are using cellular internet, it is NOT ideal for playing Diablo 2. All wireless connections are horrible for playing Diablo 2, including home WIFI.

i dint blocked it 2 days ago

Call your ISP and ask them if they are blocking ICMP traffic. If it suddenly changed, then it’s likely something your ISP did.

If not, then something is jacked with your network and/or computer.

no i got att hotspot 4g lte they say they dont block it today i got kicked off game like 5 times

100% your connection. I’m online like 1/2 the day every day and it VERY rarely their servers. Wireless gaming in general is terrible. Ethernet or don’t even bother complaining frankly.

first off cellular connection( LTE moblie modem) for internet, isn’t a stable internet connection solution, you shoud switch it to something else.

second off Your nick suggest You’re my homie/Ziomal

Please be aware that our eastern neighbours started let’s say “stress test” how “hacker proof” our internet infrastructure actually is. This is equal to but not limited to DDoS attacks, site spoofing scams, etc.
Regarding this tendency in the past,( how other countries already rotflstomped, by our eastern neighbours, were treated b4 invasion. a.k.a all were hacked), it is highly likely, our country is … how to phraze this, next on the putin’s menu… and time to 3vac might be sooner than Blizzad’s “SoonTM”.

30 characters,30 characters,30 characters,

oh yeah i live in rural area all i can unless i want spend 10000$ to run cable to my house

Could be your router updated some firmware. TheDarkJedi is correct. ICMP is being blocked. Typically, you want to configure things such that incoming ICMP is blocked (so that portscan bots can’t tell there’s a device on the other end via ICMP) but outgoing ICMP is allowed. It could be blocked at the ISP but that’s unusual. The fact that your router’s IP address doesn’t show up in the traceroute probably means it’s your router/gateway. If you have a local firewall configured, it could be that too.

Try a wired connection somewhere. In my experience, 4g lte is inconsistent. Maybe go to a place with free WIFI and see if you have the same issue?

I’m actually going to do that when I move out in the country. 10k is actually cheap. You might want to look into Starlink.

10k is not cheap when u have bills and kids

Sadly, you will continue experiencing problems playing Diablo 2 online with cellular, or any wireless connection type. The netcode the game runs with isn’t at all forgiving of packet loss or any significant ping fluctuations. Wireless connections are both prone to packet loss and ping fluctuations due to EM interference. You will be restricted to offline play, or a world of frustration trying to play online.

There is nothing Blizzard can do about the issue either.

Your only saving grace might be Starlink… Once it gets its satellite mesh fully deployed. It’s still obviously a wireless connection type and would still be prone to interference, but it will eventually be better than cellular networks, because “the sky” is the antenna, instead of requiring line-of-site to a cell tower, which may be overloaded, some neighbors towering oak tree may be in the way, or the cell tower may have technical problems. Right now Starlink is still spotty, but it is gradually improving over time as E. Musk and Co. launch more satellites into orbit. (I have Starlink as failover backup internet source at work, and it works decently enough to keep our work related tasks rolling.)
