I played original D2 from launch for 8 years, and while the amount of trade groups was always high, D2R is unplayable. The group channel is all trades, except 1 baal run that’s 1+ hours old and one person begging for help with ancients.
There needs to be a trade channel created asap.

Lack of Baal bots only makes the game unplayable for people who weren’t playing the game anyway.

Just start your own game. Last I played I started my own game, A1 go-Farm, inviting people to come farm. Someone showed up helped up my exp from the area’s I was in then he asked if I wanted Andy as he was about to go farm her. Wish I would have remembered to rescue Cain first…doh…
You can just ask for help on your build if you can’t play in Hell…

I didnt complete D2 20 years ago. You could regard me as a newcomer for D2R. But I have beaten Hell the other day… all on SOLO. I had struggles as I had many noob moments. I came to forums for help. And they did helped me about how to play my Class / Specs properly. And the results is astonishing… beaten Hell all on Solo.
You think I was just lucky the other day that Baal went down on me. Well, I did another Baal Hell run just last night again on Solo and I destroyed him again and it was easier. Now, everytime I would do it, it would be easier and easier.
Learn to play your Class / Specs. If I could do it, you could do it.

the lack of baal run games is cause their are no baal run bots yet
hell is fine, get max res with a decent life pool and figure it out.
i get that your argument might be about the terrible lobby - but it comes off as if you cant possibly solo hell.

In Legacy D2, we had public, custom chat channels.
Wanted to trade? Join Trade.
Wanted Baal runs? Join Baal
Wanted Cow runs? Join Cow
They removed this vital feature. Now we’re stuck with a single chat channel called “Lobby”.

It requires an invite from the creator of the channel to get in it. It’s not public anymore.

Hmm I just tested this with 2 accounts and I don’t see my other character unless I invite.
I did not make it private, unless it’s automatically private upon creation. If so, how do I make it public?
I currently have 2 characters in the channel “test” but can’t see/communicate with the other one. confused

Seek trades elsewhere, bnet trading is all about timing if you happen to see the exact item you want, and have what they want…

ofc its not as nice when its not there by default. ppl wont do extra steps to join an unofficial channel.
the worst part is that all softies and hardcores are mashed together as if the gameplay experience was in any way similar lol. theres no need for a hc player to talk with softies. cant even join games together.
at least if the lobby was filled with ppl playing the same mode as me it’d be kinda neat.
The Lobby is pretty terrible right now, I don’t know how anybody can say it isn’t. It’s not just the Lobby though, there’s a myriad of issues that just make joining games frustrating. Me and a friend were playing last time trying to get into games and I get the sense he’s wanting to quit because, while I love the game, he’s more casual and some of the systems are totally archaic. You’re locked out of trying to join games if you unsuccessfully try to join one. Games refresh for hours and hours because one person goes AFK in a Baal run. You finally get into a group just to realize it’s not a Baal run at all but somebody doing Chaos Sanctuary or Trav/LK, or whatever and baiting people into the game. Lobby refresh button doesn’t even seem to do anything. The list goes on.
I love Diablo and support it but the white knights are pretty cringe in some of these threads. A lot of people have totally valid reasons for being upset.

They had a trade chat group day 1 of launch on D2R. That website where you can buy loot must be a real hit because they completely removed the trade chat. I noticed that today. Like thirty days after launch chat was removed instead of fixed. But oh hey bots can spam their website to go make micro transactions…

Too much trade game , not enough actually playing the game lobbies …
Happens in a lot of game , just be lucky there isnt a carrying community for money in d2 yet 
i was just responding to someone who said you couldn’t make custom channels any more.
the default channels weren’t really used much by people but i wouldn’t mind them bringing them back but it would be pointless if they don’t fix chat bots which is why the chat system went unused in d2lod after a short time.
more than that they need to enforce their no trading for currency outside of the game rule and make a more robust trading platform either in game or online to fix those issues.
finding groups for stuff in game though it going to be a problem unless they fix the 1min cooldown on joining games.
i get that the most efficient way to play is in private games so it’s not a high priority for blizzard but it really deters people from even trying to play in public games when you get put on timers for stupid stuff like trying to join a game that is full or hasn’t been made yet or if you mistype something on accident.
lol but their is, since launch people have been rushing people for payment.
