The game is supposed to have HDR10 support, at least according to the Xbox store where HDR10 is listed as a feature, yet it doesn’t seem to be in the game. Will it be added in an upcoming update, was is scrapped (just like ultrawide)? I doubt that Microsoft would’ve listed HDR support out of the blue, meaning it must have come from Blizzard. So where is it?
Change your settings to “Quality”.
ive tried that on series x. even restarted. still nothing. this game doesnt seem to have hdr.
In what way does the game not seem to have HDR for you?
because it doesnt
whenever HDR kicks on my tv will indicate it, and i can visually tell when the signal is switched. and then i can even pull it up on my display menu to see the resolution, refresh rate, hdr10, dolby vision, etc.
both my series x, and my one x will not display hdr on D2R.
on the xbox one x, there is no quality or performance mode. on my series x it doesnt matter which mode i set it to. it simply doesnt work. and not that it would matter which mode it is set to because hdr puts next to no added strain on the hdmi bandwidth, or any hit to the in game or system performance. both game modes would be able to display HDR just fine and it wouldnt be restricted to just one option as you suggest, if such a thing ever even existed.
its not my tv. hdr still kicks on and works, for every other single game i have on all of my consoles that support it and even my pc which is also connected to it. never once have i ever had an issue getting HDR to work on a game that uses HDR. it simply kicks on automatically whenever the signal is sent.
a quick google search for “diablo resurrected HDR” confirms my suspicions. the alpha and beta did not have hdr support, and neither does the launch release. the only difference between the performance and quality mode on series x is the resolution, and a bit of extra on screen effects at the expense of locking down the framerate to 30 fps.
there is simply no HDR in this game, or any kind of HDR settings whatsoever, which practically every game that uses HDR would also include baked into the game settings itself
its simply just an error on the microsoft online store which you can visit on pc or mobile web browsers. for some reason they list it as HDR10 4K 60+ FPS. if you actually go to the xbox store through your actual console xbox and go to the diablo 2 resurrected page where you can actually buy the game on console and then and scroll down for the product detaiils, HDR10 is not even highlighted as a feature. its only listed for some reason on the microsoft online storefront on the diablo page, and for some reason they havent updated it yet. also this game is not 4k 60+ fps on series x. and it is capped to either 30 fps or 60 fps, quality mode being 30fps in 4k, and performance mode being more closer to 1440p but running at 60fps.
needless to say the game still looks great. especially when being compared to a 20 year old game. i’d say they done a good job reguardless and i really dont want to leave act 4. but in 2021 one would expect a high profile game release to have hdr. the ones that don’t seem to be few and far between these days. its nothing to be upset over though
Well it seems to support HDR on the PC. Enable it first in Windows and then when entering the brightness section in D2R, it has all the sliders for HDR and clearly says HDR at the top. Would’ve never known if I didn’t enable it in Windows first since there’s no mention of it in the settings otherwise.
January 2022 and still no fix for this. HDR works for other games (just tested) but D2R won’t run in HDR no matter what I do.
Beta ran HDR but since launch it won’t work.
Lmao hold left trigger and press select… that’s what the game originally looked like
