Hey , well, would like to enjoy this incredible game one more time next ladder, probably end this month?… would like to play a paladin since start, solo and in hc, my meta is kill ubbers in hc, I would like to know if there is any guide pass by pass how to level a paladin safer through acts and difficulties go to endgame farm and level up, after getting gear and level will respect to Tristam killer… Thanks in advance…
Not sure about Ubers (particularly solo) for which you will likely need “1337” gear for a Smiter build, but I can personally attest that the Fist of Heavens (FoH) Paladin is a very strong build once you hit level 30 and get access to that skill. Basically when you hit level 30 you alternate putting skill points into Conviction, Fist of the Heavens, Redemption (very important for mana), Holy Bolt and Holy Shield (the latter so you have some reasonable blocking to compensate for your low defence factor).
Almost any Mercenary works with this build, although I prefer A1 Cold Arrow Rogues and A5 Frenzy Barbarians.
The big challenge is that you have to play a melee Paladin (e.g. Holy Fire) prior to that, which means taking on normal Diablo in melee – make sure your fire and lightening resists are as high as you can get them, and be ready to run a lot!

You don’t need elite gear as a Smiter to do Ubers. I recall there being a video of a level 5 Smiter taking down DClone so with some modest gear, you can take down Ubers. As for leveling a Pally, an efficient Meta option is to roll Holy Fire early on because the damage of the aura is quite strong and the pulse damage is adequate enough to get through Normal difficulty and most of Nightmare. Yet I must point out that FoH is certainly an option and one that can be used as early as level 6 since Holy Bolt is a strong and underrated spell. I mean sure it has Animal/Beast limitations that make Act 2 and Act 3 a slog but it makes the fight with Act Bosses really easy as you can heal your Merc and damage the boss at the same time. You can also utilize w/e aura you want but I find Conviction + Insight is a strong early Ladder combo.
