HC loot corpse bug

So I just died helping someone with hell ancients. I allowed two people to loot my corpse and neither of them were able to.

Is this a known issue?

its not an issue if its your dead body only you can loot it
thats how it is thats how it always was

You do realize that HC means Hardcore and you can only die once, right?

I have not played Hardcore in D2R. Have you looked through the bug report forum?

probably hasnt been tested much yet lol

did you allow loot BEFORE death? it probably wouldnt work after death.

if yes then theres an issue somewhere.

Yes before death. After death you can’t do anything. Not even type.

Same thing happened last night a buddy was helping me. He allowed me to loot his corpse but I couldn’t retrieve his gear. I emptied my inventory to loot him but still couldn’t. We were doing ancients on hell difficulty

Did he stay in game?

I haven’t seen enough people die to test this. Both seem to happen at the Ancients, but the Ancients is one of the main HC killers, especially of melee chars.

I thought you used to be able to type once dead. I swear I remember people telling us how bad the mob that killed them was so we could come get them.

I can confirm this is a behavior change from my testing.
Now in HC, need both characters set each other loot permission mutually.
Otherwise, you will see the corpse, you can click on the corpse, but no action, no error message, no nothing.

You can just create a lv1 character and test. If both player set each other loop permission, then you can loot back that default weapons when he dies.

This is a game behavior change than original D2. Previously, you only need to allow other to loot you then they can loot you when you die. But now, you need both side agree. This is a deal breaker IMO

i think you might have to allow loot BEFORE dying? idk tho.

*damn ive been here already

Yes he stayed in game. He had me able to loot. But I hadn’t clicked it… I hope its not a mutual thing…

It is a mutual thing, see my post above.
Loot behavior changed in D2R. You need both player grant loot to each other.
You can create a lv1 character to test
