Well… The title speaks for itself. I got two random DC’s. One yesterday and another one today. Yesterday my sorc magically left the game with 59HP and today she died. Being an HC character it’s pretty annoying. I’m even wondering if it’s worth playing the game, as I’m only attracted to HC mode.
I’m playing from Argentina, in the Americas region.
Is there something that can be done about my character? I guess not, but I’m not letting my character die because of a server issue and not post this as a very annoying bug.

While it is frustrating to lose a hardcore character due to circumstances beyond your control, it is a risk you agree to when creating a hardcore character.

If you’re up for the hardcore challenge again, pick up whatever pieces you can (if any) and start again. Otherwise if you can’t handle a hardcore death for any reason, including issues on your end, Blizzards end or in between, play softcore.

Hahahaha “your little sister”. That’s a great disclaimer. I understand, of course, and I didn’t really expect them to resurrect my character but as I said I didn’t want to let her go without doing it. As I don’t have that much free time, a lv69 sorcs took me around a week of gameplay. I’m wondering if playing offline we would have the same DC’s… given an internet connection is needed to enter the D2R instance.

I’m trying to play ladder softcore, but it seems so pointless. Can’t get into it.
If you have an unstable connection HC is a bad idea. If you are really set on going HC, then ‘summoner’ type characters are the ‘safest’. If you DC your minions will still be ‘working’ and keep you relatively safe. Try out a summoner Druid or Necy. This is not purely safe, but it’s better than nothing.

My understanding is that you would have the same disconnects offline. The blizz maintenance always drops me and rollbacks have rolled back my progress in “Offline Mode.” However, I think you’re character leaves the game upon disconnecting in offline mode, whereas your character stays in game for some time in “Online Mode.”
So same discs, but you won’t die from them.
