How many of you have managed to make a Hardcore character?
Personally I didn’t think it made sense but then when I tried it I fell in love in the end I made a java level 91 that is dead and a soso fire at level 92 still alive. What is your experience in this regard?
you people enjoy dying to lag spikes? power outages, networks failures, etc
i dont like dark souls types games as they are, let alone online…

No! I like the risk and the adrenaline it creates, and trust me I never died from lag, just be careful and don’t risk unnecessarily avoiding the areas that you know your character can’t handle, plus he prefers to be more tank than glass cannon .
I haven’t been on D2 forums in years until just prior to the closed beta so I’d like to ask a question: When did people start using terms like “soso”?
Maybe like…2003-4? could have been earlier but I think that’s when it became a lot more popular.
Wow. I really did keep my circle small though. Occasionally went into games to trade, but mostly only talked to friends. Figured I would have seen it more. Always learning something 
i think hardcore would be cool if instead of losing your character permanently, you just get booted off the hardcore server and are forced onto softcore-nonladder…
THAT would make me play hardcore… i could remake and remake my character on hardcore and have that “Death” experience of being kicked off for losing but still not feel a terrible loss of everything i spent so much time and effort in when “dying”

I played mostly closed bnet and ladder. I just never played with many people. I got a hardcore zon to 94 or 95, somewhere around there, back in 1.09. I didn’t have hacked stuff, just good old buriza, guided arrow, and freezing arrow lol.
I understand what you are saying but I feel like telling you … and a game is not your life that you lose, the game is for having fun and feeling, if this does not do the game does not work, that being said, I was also a scetic, i think i will also make myself a soft core character, but it is an experience that i recommend to everyone only, just go to the half of the speed you are used to here normally at least at the beginning, and stay away from black souls unless we have a res to the lightning 85 minimum I would say

In D2 only one of those actually would kill you… the lag spike. The others would cause an immediate DC as there isn’t the timer like existed in D3.
Only way I’ve played since D2 launched.
My max was a level 99 HC Necro (don’t ever 99 people ><; ) and I’ve had Druid and Paladin into the 90s as well (low-90s).
I look forward to trying to get all of the classes (and maybe 2-3x builds of each) eventually into the mid-90s on NL now that everything is unlocked there. Might even hit 99 HC Necro again if I am lucky/unlucky/bored =p

What it almost always is… Summonmancer.
I’ll make a Posionmancer eventually but it isn’t my preferred build. I just love having my army and exploding corpses. Small joys in life or something >.>
Go play Path of Exile.
Connection and system performance are the real bosses in HC mode.
I’ve lost some characters legit and to stuff that is out of my hands. That does take the fun out of it at times.
Had a level 89 frenzy barb take 3-4 corpse explosions from nilathalk in hell mode and I survived with about 5% health. It was freaking brutal, and glorious all at once.

or just general rubber-banding regardless of connection. it baffles me why anyone plays hardcore when the vast majority of deaths aren’t due to their own error, but mostly the above mentioned problems. gear is already hard enough to find in the game with months of farming without worrying about losing everything due to no fault of your own lol
first HC toon i made first time i died to those little doll things in i think act 3 after that i said never again… those little boogers are fast
