Ever since 2.4 released CE doesn’t seem to work as well as it used to. I can’t seem to put my finger on it but it seems like monsters are now blocking corpses and I cannot CE them until the monsters are dead or I move them away from the corpse (what’s the point of that). Anyone else seeing this?

Works as it did for Death Sentry anyway.
You don’t have to target corpses with Death Sentry.

I haven’t personally tried it myself (don’t have a Necro) but I’ve heard a lot about the targeting issues, it’s most likely something to due with the FoH targeting changes mentioned in the latest patch notes.
Hopefully it gets fixed because it sounds very annoying to target corpses when there’s monsters or items in the way.
It’s wierd, because when it on my right click, I can’t target corpses, but if it’s on my Quick Cast bar, it works fine.

yeah, I thought I was going crazy. before i could watch for 1 mob to die in a a large group, cast CE in that general direction and bam bam bam the mobs fall like dominoes.
now there definitely seems to be something wrong with the targeting. even if i have a highly visible corpse my CE doesn’t like to target it unless the mobs thin out.
Also super noticeable with things like maggot larva doing chaos runs. before they never really got to big numbers because CE took them out so fast, but now my skeletons are swimming in giant sea of maggots and i can see death animations going off but my CE just isn’t targeting them for some reason. At least not until a bunch of them are cleared out and I am left with a near empty field going “oh, there were like 30 corpses here, I can explode them all now, but why couldn’t I before?”

I noticed this on my Summoner necro. I used to only right click CE and it would pick a body…now sometime I have to either specifically pick a body or hold standstill for it to cast…sometime it also seems to be blocked (line of sight) by monsters.
i mean, nobody listens to me when i make posts saying that Mobile and console are going to ruin our favorite games. So what do you expect to happen?
Maybe next time listen to and support me when i make posts about pretty much anything.
I just don’t use CE never have skelly army of enough to kill anything in the game
i can not cast Corpse Explosion properly because of this new “feature”.
either a fix or a workaround would really be appreciated…

What comes into my mind is they have “fixed” seal targetting in CS, as this was unreliable before. Maybe this had somehow unintended side effects

When I briefly played a Necro in early ladder I didn’t notice any issue with CE targeting, but I did have it on a hotkey with the new KB+M hotkey system turned on, not via right clicking. I could just randomly spam the key and things would randomly blow up without having to be very precise.
