Harmless changes

That’s the truth… so many consequences that people don’t think through ahead of time.

100% agree. Those changes are never little or harmless.

Except removing the cow level creation penalty.

Go ahead, explain why that isn’t anything but a harmless change?

Yeah, well I’m all for removing that penalty, but I also think there’s no harm in giving a shared stash to ClassicD2 players as well, apparently the devs disagree for some reason.

It shifts “causality” level towards d3. Of course, this shift is small, but it is.

Rune drops should be increased, not decreased.

We had plenty of runes to play with back then because of botters and dupers. When those are wiped out, the supply of HRs will be drastically decreased.

Rune drops should stay exactly the same. Not too easy, not too hard. I think they struck the perfect balance in 1.13.

I really hope so. Sounds like a really fun time seeing a Ber in a trade screen and actually getting that feeling of “oh boy, what can I trade this guy I really need that”

If we had your mentality, we would be back in 1.09.

So no thanks.

This makes no sense. I just literally said I think the balance of 1.13 is better than 1.09.

Now it just seems like you’re arguing for the sake of arguing.

Nah. Because your persistent “no change” attitude would’ve blocked any changes from 1.09 to 1.13. But now you realize it’s better after the changes.

That’s exactly how it would play out if there were balance or gameplay changes for D2R. People like you would throw a tantrum, then realize the changes actually improved the game after it happens and you play it.

There are plenty of topics here, where one people want change/remove enigma, and other call it a compulsory item for any char.
I remember sunny days, when people say “I see a character with enigma once! That was awesome!”
Also, if HR are extremely rare, there is no balance problems from them.

It’s better in some ways, worse in others. That’s kind of how things work in real life. I was not against every change from 1.09 to 1.13, by the way.

Honestly you’re the one throwing a tantrum. You’re not getting your corruption, and you’re mad cuz bad.

Do you know what also let you trade across game modes? Trusted players. Also third side arbitrage helps a lot. It never was a problem to buy a classic shard for pul or sell a classic soj for a faceted griffon. And you even don’t know that, because of currency surrogate.

Currently, there are only 3 respecs available, yes?

I don’t feel like that very limited number of respecs really makes player decision not matter, and doesn’t severely punish brand new people coming in and screwing themselves over with poor builds.

You can get additional respecs by repeatedly farming Andarial/Duriel, Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal in Hell mode. They drop essences, which can be cubed to craft a Token of Absolution.

It would be hard to farm these, because drops are not guaranteed from these bosses, with a garbage build

I do know that… however, a 3rd side arbitrage, such as D2jsp… fixes all of the things you’ve brought up. Don’t trade fairly? Get reported. Get your trust on d2jsp ruined and you have to start over. Without a record of how many successful trades, it’s impossible to build trust.

You could post on a forum somewhere, I suppose… Oh… Like D2jsp.

Basically, ever part of your argument is met/exceeded by D2jsp.

Create inevitable character during the first, the second and even the third playthough - essential part of Diablo 2 game. I wish I get that experience again, but it is impossible now (unfortunately).

No. Such as some well-known players most traders trust. You write message in the game and you’re done.
Furthermore, d2jsp propagandists say there is barter there, so if you hate trading so much, then you can still use your fauvorite cheat-style trading platform, but with no currency surrogate.

So, realistically… how would you build trust? How would you prove to other players that you’re trustworthy?

How would you accept someone else as trustworthy?

I’ve played d2 for a very long time. I’ve had people who were “trustworthy” for dozens of trades and xfers randomly rip me off. I’ve seen it happen to others.

Meanwhile… using d2jsp, I’ve only been ripped off a fraction of the times, and in those instances I was able to get my FG back because I had proof of being ripped off. No net loss.

Your method exposes people to significantly more risk.

I would leave the 3 re-specs, they are vital to certain builds ,early game then spec to end game skills. Remove the tokens if anything to achieve this.

Make the game harder, awesome, finally going in the right direction. Have to be careful here though, there is already a good balance of areas that are viable for certain builds and impossible for others, overdoing this would effectively kill solo mf’ing on some areas.

Current rune drop rate is fine. Your reffering to a current bot infested bnet where runes and runewords are easy to get. Less bots, will make these scarce, so 9/10 becomes 1-2/10 for the first month or so and will reward players for time invested or if they get really lucky.

No. Even if they did, do you think it would matter? Prove that I got my Shako for 10fg or a bud light to my buddy… Unless I am dumb and my username is the same on bnet as it is on jsp (it isnt) or I blatantly say in chat or in game that I use JSP or Reddit or Discord…

Lol… No I dont miss those !@#$ers at all.

Sure. These are the only true harmless items on your list.
