Was expecting a whole heck of alot more.
Great damage all throughout every difficulty, almost nothing is immune to you.
WILDLY inconsistant, almost as inconsistant as Blizzard Sorceress.
Even if you are in open space and able to freely cast Blessed Hammer without hitting a wall or really anything, it still passes through enemies and bosses doing 0 damage as if it passed straight through the mob, adjusting a pixel to the left, now it hits the mob.
Granted, since you are a paladin you can get a spirit shield EXTREMELY early on, allowing you to cast 1000 hammers quickly, so if 999 miss atleast 1 will hit.
Reminds me of Blizzard Sorceress. Cast Blizzard on 15 mobs and 6 get hit.
I do concede though, with 100 hours of playtime on either spec, you can probably make it be less frustrating, but still, I don’t recall any playthroughs or guides or any “clips” ever even hinting at how inconsistant and frustrating Hammerdin is, in tight spaces or not.
I am not giving up on my playthrough, it’s a fun new playstyle, but if I had to do it over again, I would have stuck with my tried and true Summonmancer or OrbHydra Sorceress, needless to say I’m too far into my Hammerdin playthrough to bring myself to start over.
TIL: Great carry spec through all difficulties, but, very inconsistant and frustrating, specially in cramped spaces. Requires thorough practice in positioning to be top notch effective, otherwise its a slow progress slog.
