Griffons or Chains first?

I have a Jah rune and some other runes i can use to trade. Do I use the jah to try and get a griffons or a ber rune first?

Griffon only lower resist, Infinity breaks it.

why would you use chains of honor at all?
Javazon uses enigma.
CoH is marginally better than viper, which you can get for free :stuck_out_tongue:

Good news is I have a ber and a 3os superior mage plate, now just need a jah again lol. Used the other jah go trade for a ber and make a chains

I have seen differing views on this. Llama suggests CoH for example, on a Javazon, but I have seen a lot of folks using Enigma, which is awesome in so many ways.

I was advised to go for Infinity first in order to break immunities, so that’s what I did (and it took me FOREVER to get my 2 BER runes). Infinity can be underwhelming, however.

  • First, your Merc goes all OVER the place, and as a Javazon, you’re running really fast (even without Enigma’s 45% FRW), so half the time you’re killing mobs without the merc aura anyway.
  • Second, even if the merc is in range, there is a short delay between when the merc is in range of the mobs and when the aura kicks in, so half the time, you’re still stuck jabbing mobs that are Lightning Immune anyway.
  • Third, there are just some mobs that you can’t break immunities, even lightning (which is one of the easier elements to break). The Cow King, for example, will still be LI, and so will other mobs like certain skeletons in the WSK Levels 2 and 3. Just be prepared to kill them the old fashioned way (Jab or using the fire proc from a torch).

Now, Chains of Honor requires a BER rune, and that could be used for a variety of better uses, like Enigma, or half of your Infinity. My Javazon, for example, is still using Smoke, mainly for the resists.

If you do use that BER rune for Enigma, you’re getting soooo many benefits, mainly teleport, but Magic Find, good defense and health, +2 to skills (which is nice for a CTA also), and +strength which means you can respec and put more of those points into Vitality instead, etc.

Regarding your initial question about Griffon’s, I would say no to Griffon’s right now, but that’s only because the last I looked, they were going for 2 BER or more, so your single BER is better used in Enigma (or towards getting your Infinity).
