I’m glad the developers are taking feedback seriously and the changes outlined in the recent patch notes are fantastic.
With that said, I would like to suggest they consider expanding the Grief Runeword to be allowed in Crossbows. As crossbows have been underperforming for a long time, this could give them a much needed boost in power and make them viable. Thoughts?

absolutly not…bowzon would be absurdly broken

If it would be for a bow–>yes this could be true, but for a crossbow–>i’m not sure…this could be interesting…
if they change Demon crossbow to not be allowed 5 sockets, then It’s not going to be absurdly broken.
40% IAS from grief won’t make colossus crossbow too fast, and you cannot put another socketable in it either. Should be not too OP, probably comparable to Faith.
However this is only acceptable if they revert strafe and multi-shot damage buffs.

Worth testing at least. Would make xbows more useful. They don’t get the plus skills bows get.
Yeah, demon crossbows might be to strong…

As crossbows have been lacking for a very long time, adding Grief to crossbows sounds like a reasonable change. It’s unfortunate they are a waste of an entire subclass of items in their current state.

Dude… it would break the game.
Repeating Crossbows have a base attack speed of -40 (faster than a Phase Blade). The exceptional and Elite versions have a base speed of -60. If the +340 damage from grief applies after base weapon damage, in the calculation of Strafe and Multi-shot, the DPS per shot would be broken as all hell. Even if the weapon damage was calculated properly (divided by 4) with Strafe and Multishot, it would still outperform our best current bows and have a level 15 Venom with -25% enemy poison resist (very good with Multishot). Grief also has Ignore’s Target Defense, 20% Deadly Strike, and ~150% Dmg to Demons.
I would rather Crossbows not exist than have Grief apply to crossbows.

Don’t confuse weapon speed modifier and the actual attack speed. The high WSM of a repeating crossbow does not make it shoot actually faster than a phase blade swing. It’s quite complicated but for example a zon won’t be able to shoot any crossbow faster than 11 frames, and with repeating\demon\chu-ko-nu you only need a tiny bit of IAS to reach that.
That’s a very good point.
With that in mind, the Repeating Crossbow would only need 35% IAS from Grief to hit the max attack speed for all Crossbow Skills. It’s still plenty fast enough and there’d be no need for IAS on any of the Amazon’s gear; Ruby Jewels of Fervor become old hat, Cleglaw pinches best in slot, Highlord’s falls low and I can’t see using The Cat’s Eye. Making Grief a Crossbow isn’t something to throw in on whim that’s for sure.
